Your invitation is probably just delayed because of all the extra holiday season mail. I didn't get mine either. Keep checking often.

Well said! One of my many reasons for shipping the 911 off to Istanbul was the fear of an original never repainted body getting pranged. Whenever I drove it, that thought never left my head.

Me too...That's why I told the salesman that if he couldn't find a Bullitt for me, I wasn't going to buy a Mustang. Not my car, but a nice pic of a stock bodied Bullitt.
Note the "debadged" look. I wish they'd left the faux gas cap with the gunsight logo off too...but that's the Ford way of IDing mustang models. Kind of like the T E and S on the rear lid of the early 911.

Somethings wrong when your racecars have automatic transmissions and solid axles. And not just the drag racing version. The new Boss 302 does as well.

Ford launches Cobra Jet and Boss Mustangs

At least it has lots of wings and fins. And it is red and has big wheels.

Not quite all true there...the Boss 302 is a 6 speed manual. Automatics in drag racing? Gee, who ever heard of that? Pretty near everybody these days.

Solid axle? Like I said, let's wait for the Grand-Am series to begin...see how well the Boss 302's keep up with the 911 GT3s, the M3 BMWs, the Lambo Gallardos in GT class...it's going to be interesting.

You're welcome to make a prediction...I don't care to.

I doubt that. My 944S2 is probably more setup than your n/a, and I'd me lucky if I got 6.5 - 7k for it.

By well setup, I mean:
Koni yellows all around, 400lb front springs, 31mm hollow rear torsion bar, M030 front sway, 22mm rear welt sway, delrin bushings, camber plates, solid tranny & rear suspension mounts, 944 Turbo S brakes, cooling ducts for the front brakes, rollbar, seats & harnesses. Corners with the best of them!

Oh, and I have ~60 more hp than you.

Back to the OP -- that Mustang "how to drive a stick shift" is about as helpful as watching a pumpkin rotting in a field. And when stopping, it is always best to apply the brakes first, and then put the car into neutral.

Yes, the street Boss has the manual but the road racing Boss 302S has an automatic, according to Autoweek. Edit: it is SCCA and World Challenge GTS spec, not Grand Am.

All this is pointless to me. I don't watch Grand Am. ALMS is where it's at.

Maybe if they got rid of those hideous $h!t boxes in the other class...

Here's a picture of one just like what I picked up on Monday. It's a plane Jane GT base- not quite as clean looking as the Bullitt but close IMHO.

Very nice...AND you have that beautiful 5.0 engine. You know, I'm not sure, but if the 5.0 emblem on the fender is just glued on, a good detail man could remove 'em. Then folks might make the mistake of thinking you're one of those "mere" 305 horsepower 6 cylinder 2011's...

Come across any M3's at a stoplight yet?

LOVE the color!

Paul - I never even drove the car. It had 2 feet of snow on it when I made the deal. I never even fired it up. I'm excited but all the driving I will be doing is the 40 min. trip home on the first clear day we get next week. I wonder if it will have enough grunt.

If it's slippery at all, you'll have too much grunt...Peter Egan wrote a funny bit in the latest R&T about getting his Bullitt parked for the winter after it snowed...

Just slip a battery tender on, and your GT should sleep well.
