Does that mean it will be available for purchase on DVD at that time?

There is a review of the movie in the NYTimes LINK.

There is also short clip on the making of the movie where Senna and Prost race each other in Japan. LINK. I can't wait to see the movie.

Caught it today at the Landmark. Good stuff. Wish we could have done the screening with the director in attendance. Would have been cool to hear from him.

Went to the 11:50am show this morning. On some levels a "good" film, on other levels "great." It was obviously written/produced by people with a genuine affection for Senna. Ron Dennis came off as quite a sympathetic character (which surprised me a bit) and Prost of course was the villian with him coming around at the end.

Certainly a few tear-inducing moments. The g/f cried a bunch, mostly driven by the soundtrack. She is an F1 fan though (my indoctrination) so she was into the film. I don't think that a non-fan would really get as much out of the movie. You really have to kind of understand the circus to get what made him special.

One highlight - young Ruebens meeting Senna for the first time. Hard to believe he's now the old man on the grid. Also no Schumacher in the film other than passing mention towards the end. I think they didn't want to get anywhere near the "would Senna have beaten Michael" argument.

Ron Dennis (a very young Ron Dennis) definitely comes across very well and very human in the movie. Balstre doesn't look good at all. While Prost doesn't come off well, I would have liked the movie to acknowledge that Prost and Senna had a reconciliation that weekend. I believe that was a very unexpected but genuine reconciliation. With that in mind, it certainly makes more sense to see Prost as a pallbearer and trustee for the foundation.

Was a good story, but don't go expecting a deep dive biography or nothing but a hero worship flick. It tells a story and welcomes the audience to learn more on their own. I wonder if an audience less familiar with F1 will understand some of the nuances or racing aspects (does everybody else know what a "chicane" is?).

Regardless, it was well done and enjoyable. Looking forward to the DVD with hopes of lots of extra footage, interviews, etc.

Senna's Silver Carrea

I just saw the Film & thoroughly enjoyed it. If you watch the end credits, there are clips with the titles. In the last one Senna drives off in a silver Carrera Cabriolet. I wonder where that car is now.

Did anywhere in the movie did they tell where Ayrton really did not want to race that weekend?

I thought so, that entire weekend at Imola was covered very well in this movie.

Building the tension of the weekends events leading up to his crash in practice, Senna's apprehension to race Sunday, his uneasiness in his car and then finally his last few quite moments alone in his car before the lights went out.

Erie actually and very impressive they had that footage.

It was mentioned in the movie he didn't smile all weekend. It came across like he was fully aware of what was going to happen. The footage of all the accidents that weekend was brutally raw, the discussion between Senna and the Dr was insightful as well, he told the doc he had to race - he couldn't quit...even though he'd rather just go fishing... I thought I could tell he was sick to his stomach with nerves.... not sure if that was the case but effective story telling obviously.

Well done 3rd act to the story. The sound track including the F1 cars was fantastic. I'll be taking the wife this weekend.

btw I went Monday afternoon and there was a good crowd, lots of non F1 people too. I sat near an 80+yr old couple on one side and a group of guys on an extended lunch from a hot rod shop...
