No, just sensitive to touch and movement.

I was sitting on my feet for most of three hours.
When I would get up, both feet were numb and I was stumbling towards the tile saw until feeling came back.

I may have strained it when it was numb and didn't realized I injured it.
Still doesn't explain why it took 6-8 hours for the pain to come on.

Guy goes to the winky doctor and says he has a problem. Doc says drop trow......the patient does and reveals the smallest winky the Docotor has ever seen.

Doc can't help but breaks down in tears and laughter......when he finally stops he's able to choke out, "what's the problem?".

The patient says, "It's swollen......"

Hell you are not yet 43. Give it another 5 years...it gets worse. Trust me on that.

Immediate muscle injury: Cold to reduce swelling, pain, and incidental problems(spasms through other muscle groups).
Later: Hot soak in tub to return active blood flow to the area.

Repetative-motion injuries require a day or two for rest at a minimum.
Injury upon injury is only exponential, and permanent.

This needs to be followed by a change in habits:
-Figure out a better way to transition from knees to standing, even if it takes a few more seconds. Your long-term abilities and career are worth it.

-Maintain the same position for shorter amounts of time. Lay fewer rows with each go. Keep the body square. Keep tools close.

-Get quality kneepads that don't fall down and/or squeeze the crap out of the joint. Protect your tendons.

-After a brief trial period, if it's not easier to acheive the same result, then stop using that method.

Good

try doing the contrast thing

3 min ice pack
1 min warm(not hot) soak
3 min ice pack

lather rinse repeat, start and finish with cold total of twenty minutes, one to a couple of times a day, can get impressive results with the contrast bath

ended up running over to my brother's house last night at 2300 to give him a shot for the gouch, turns out he is going to get himself a new 392 Challenger

he is wanting something like this

It is an SRT 392 6 speed manual, he will have to do stripe delete to put on these stripes he likes, comes with two wide stripes in the middle. He is going to test drive Challengers today and I just might have to go with him

When you are crawling around, it might be better if the weight were on a pad on the front of your shin, rather than a situation where ceramic tile is crushing things against the bones of your foot and ankle. This would probably be better than most, if not all knee pads I would suspect, maybe a bit cumbersome, maybe a couple strips of that egg crate stuff or split some pipe insulation and lay it flat.

You could squirt some of that foam insulation for inside walls into a sock or something and mold it to your shin. I just thought of that though, so it might not work

Update~

Things were going pretty good.
Still a little sensitive, but I could run, walk and do whatever until today.

I was walking down the stairs, carrying a tile saw.
I landed on uneven ground at the bottom, rolled the ankle, tossed the saw, did a monkey roll and fell in the mud.

It hurt SO bad.
I'm back on the ice and elevated foot routine.

Very swollen.

I didn't need this.

Thank god for the monkey roll, you could have been seriously hurt!

You never know how much you take walking around for granted until you have an injury and can't.... Hope it's better soon.

Celebrex is good stuff for sure, but man, it's really expensive. So much so that my insurance no longer will cover it. And when it was covered, it still was $75 per refill. So it's back to Ibuprofen for me.

I've been trying Aleve (Naproxen) instead of my regular Celebrex. It seems to be working better than Ibuprofen but not as good as Celebrex.

KT, you may prone to injuring this foot/ankle for a long time to come. Might as well learn now about it and don't take it for granted as you go about climbing, descending stairs, running, etc. If you can get tome PT, that would be good.

Hope you're feeling better ASAP!

Sounds like it's time to visit an Orthopedic specialist to get their take. They can at least determine if it is muscle or tendon related and suggest the proper recovery and ways to avoid re injury.
