Not much says America more than one of our 572 Imposter series Big Blocks. This engine is designed to have the look, sound, and feel of a methanol dragster but was designed from the ground up to be able to drive around city streets and wake up the neighbors. The throttle response on this thing is insane, and the overdriven idle will have you dancing in the car. The last Imposter we built ran 8.0 in the quarter-mile yet is docile enough to go to the burger joint.

This 491ci V16 engine is one of fewer than 400 believed to have been produced by the Marmon Motor Car Company of Indianapolis, Indiana, during a production run from 1931 through 1933. The engine features aluminum construction—including the crankcase and cylinder heads—and retains its cast-aluminum valve covers, intake and exhaust manifolds, Stromberg DDR-3 carburetor, Delco-Remy distributor

Water injection? Grady used to write about using an extra injector to spray cool water into the intake.

The factory oil tank is there. Water injection is a WAG but who knows?

The Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp, an American 18-cylinder, twin-row, air-cooled radial aircraft engine, boasts a displacement of 2,800 cu in (46 L) and belongs to the enduring Wasp family of engines.
Throughout and post World War II, the R-2800 was extensively utilized in several crucial American aircraft. Throughout the conflict, Pratt & Whitney persistently innovated to enhance the engine, incorporating features like water injection for takeoff in cargo and passenger aircraft and providing emergency power during combat. The P-47 was one of then planes that used this monster - P-47 Thunderbolt

After making their 4 cam racing engine for some years Ford got A J Foyt to take care of selling and supporting it. Notice the cam cover saying Foyt rather than Ford. This continued until the point where everyone was using Cosworth engines.
The current high performance Ford V8 you can get for your Mustang, etc. is named "coyote" in A J's honor.
