I watched Talking Dead and see now how she was indeed consumed. I'm not convinced Carol is dead, despite how Nicotero talked about the grave scene.

Even on my laptop I saw that it was shell casing. You could (at least I did) make out the indent from the firing pin.

I don't know where the remains were. Maybe some zombies have a pot of stew going somewhere.

I hope Carol is still around... she and Daryl are kind of each other's destiny in some way.

I didn't see it well enough on the 32" to realize it was the shell casing. I was thinking it was the projectile... but I guess that would probably be inside the zombie.

i think if he was going to get to laurie, he'd just slice the damn thing open. i was a bit confused, actually, because i thought he was going to gut the thing to get at his wife.

do the 'walkers' digest what they eat? if so, what does that do for them?

Possibly still angry at Lori for betraying him... he was just stabbing forcefully, not trying to open it up.

I don't know about digestion and all that, but it was brought out that feeding keeps the walkers "energized" and aggressive. If they can't eat, they become more docile and will slowly start winding down. This is why Michonne was able to keep a couple of "modified" walkers on a leash as bearers. Don't know if they'll completely shut down if deprived of "food" for a long enough time.
Never saw one so gorged-out that it couldn't even move like that walker who munched up Lori.

Supposedly, what or whoever's on the other end of that phone will be revealed in the next episode.

I also immediately thought of Jim Jones and "Jonestown" when the governor and his people were introduced. More than just a passing resemblance too...

I think Rick is temporarily losing it and the phone ringing is his imagination. Wasn't he hearing sounds of a young boy just before the phone rang?
