I thought the leader of the prisoners was gonna make life difficult for the group for a few episodes... Was I wrong !! He lasted *one* fight... Loved that Rick is not messing about anymore!

Came out of nowhere.

Great writing.....I thought that character was going to be with us for a while....nope - Rick didn't like how close he came to being bitten nor the guy's lame comment afterwards.

I thought Rick was just going to clock him one in the jaw...whoa - taking it to a whole 'nother level!

Well Rick could have done him in with one to the chest but the guy would have come back as a walker and Rick would have had to do him all over again.

What I liked was the sneak peaks.....makes me wonder how Rick will react to _______ showing up again.

Prisoner tossed that zombie at Rick. Zombie panty scene was crazy.

I pretty much try to just go along for the ride on this show... and others... while not looking for flaws, but I thought it was unrealistic that Rick's face off with that guy followed by that machete chop which took a full second in "windup" and execution could have occurred.

I believe that guy's spidey sense would have been extremely on edge and elevated and he would have been able to get that weapon he was holding up and block that chop because he would have expected it at that point. He knew Rick would be pissed about the zombie fling as well as that wild roundhouse swing that almost hit Rick during the zombie killfest.

I think it would have been much more realistic for Rick to stare at him like he did for a few seconds, then step back half a step and say, "Daryl?" ...then zzzzzzzzip, the guy takes an arrow through the coconut since earlier they had discussed how they needed to watch the guy and Daryl had told Rick "just give me the word."

It would've also been more realistic for Rick or Daryl to take that other guy out or at least wing him before he ran away. For Rick to volunteer to chase him down through those hallways alone was very risky. He/they could have run into another whole pack of zombies and gotten overrun.

But hey, it's a great show... stuff like this doesn't diminish my enjoyment of it at all. I didn't even think of these two until later.

Tonight's episode was the best of both season 2 and 3 combined. I am wanting to go back and re read the comic because I can't remember much about the gov.

Helo was not shot down - had mechanical issues.

That assistant to the Gov. is an interesting character. The look on his face when the Gov. came back to town and lied about the National Guard massacre was very prophetic, IMHO.

What I have seen so far this season - they have upped the ante with the storyline...much more interesting than the farmhouse dramas last season.

Great to have Merle back - that was the highlight of the episode last night.

"Talking Dead" following "The Walking Dead" is really good with discussion about characters, story and behind the scenes. There is some discussion of differences between comic book and series story lines and characters also.

For those who have read the books, they are so far following reasonably close. That worries me a bit, because by the end of the compendium (the end of the jail/governor cycle), there is $hit happening to some characters at the very end that I do not want to see on TV... Really do not.... I hope they take some liberties with the story (and cast) by then.... Given how long the farm cycle lasted, looks like this jail/governor cycle could last 2 seasons anyway, so there is time ;-)
