Not one of them had "wood" siding!

I love this photo. I believe it was taken before my father left for one of his fishing trips in the Boundary Waters of MN. The wagons were also used for many ski trips & to haul our Airstream around the country for 3-week vacations every June.

I love "sport wagons" - my wife currently drives an '11 Audi A4 Avant.

That looks like a Grumman flat back aluminum canoe.

Yes it is. Good eye! I believe it is 17' - does that sound right?

We lived in Columbus, OH, & my father took the canoe on fishing trips into the Boundary Waters of northern MN & used a 3 1/2 horsepower Evinrude (he called it a "kicker") to go 60-some miles into the wilderness, including a couple portages. Usually 6-8 guys would go, 2 per canoe. I think he went about 6 times. One of my regrets is that I never went with him. My brother went once.

The photo was probably taken around 1980. My brother still has the canoe, although I don't think it has been in the water for quite awhile.
