I hate to say this but..
You've owned it for how long ? Barely made it out on the water and now this.
Some people would say these are RED flags.
Perhaps you and your family are not meant to go out on the water in that boat.

lonewolf,

that thought has been present and others have made that point very clear!

at this point, we just want ONE good moment on the boat. I don't want to endure all of this, especially after all the money we spent, for NOTHING.

I could never do anything illegal (Don't do the crime, if you can't do the time.,...and believe me, I couldn't do the time). But I am hoping for a freak lightning strike or meteor shower.

I hate to sound like a doom-sayer, but a year or so ago, a Pelican who had a fear of flying went on a cross-country flight with a friend to help overcome his fear.

This might be the Fates saying,"My Friend: This is NOT the boat for you."

Best luck with whatever you decide.

Whew T951, I had been waiting for your update about completing the repair and getting into some enjoyment with the boat. And now this, You are sure being tested.
That is some serious damage. I do think that the damage can be repaired well. But this will not be cheap to get done. or quick and may require a complete paint of the cabin and deck to ever look right. Bummer, and expensive and results in possible loss of value to paint over the original gel coat.
The hauling co. owner must be so pissed with his crew!! And you as well. Got to really question what happened to the hull as well in the scraping.
There have been some funny comments here hoping I'm sure to help lighten your mood over this.
Don't know what I would do in your situation, Really wishing the best for you!!

Cheers Richard

You have my total sympathy...and good wishes.

Funny how the glossy boating brochures never mention experiences like these...

Sorry to hear of this new trouble your having.
As has been posted this might be a good opportunity for you to find another boat,
as you have had more than a few warnings that this boat and you dont mix well.
Owning a new toy shouldnt be difficult,
and this one has truly exceeded any possible expectation of a payback with good times.

IMHO count your losses as a blessing,
and move on to another opportunity,
this boat has been warning you , to leave,
as weird as it sounds stuff like this does happen.

Perhaps your " one good time " with this boat will be watching someone else motoring away with it. It is hard to understand these kind of events happening with a supposed pleasure purchase.
I really feel for you. Maybe going thru the repair with selling in mind will start the moving on process for you and your wife.

Cheers Richard

My first read on your first adventure with the Captain did not seam plausible but this story tops all. I would insist the trucking company buy it because of the damage history and disclosure laws involved if you ever go to sell it. How much fun you have had devided by hours in the shop X antacid = boat ownership

Just heartbreaking to look at.

Good luck with the rest of the story.

Sailors are generally superstitious, so, if I was you, I'd look into getting rid of that bad luck charm ASAP and start over fresh, tk.

Well, you could look at it as all the bad things have now happened to it.

I have a gift for you, if you want it

A few years ago, I bought a cursed boat. The day I bought it, the previous owner was to sail it to the cottage for me. It dismasted, and the previosu owner tied it to the dock with the sails and mast hanging in the water. I had to sue the seller. After getting the mast repaired, the boat was vandalized in my driveway by union thugs (during a strike). This was all before I ever sailed it.

I named the boat "Ms. Fortune", and ordered some nice decals for it. Of course, they came twice the size I ordered. Still have them, and I get the feeling they would suit your boat... I'll send them if you want them

sux - big time - I always tell my friends that boat ownership makes Porsche ownership seem cheap. That's a big "ding" tough to make that gelcoat blend. I'd recommend finding a pursuit tiara dealer if you decide to have it repaired. You didn't rename it did you? that's bad juju.

I was going to say the same thing, I would make them buy it and hang out with friends who have boats (JeremyD) buy fuel & beer..
I pretty much grew up on boats and still love em..
