Its guys and gals like you two, who I admire!! Congrats to both. Maybe you and the other happy couples could start a separate forum for those of us who just don't seem to have a clue.

(Congrats!)

37 years for Cindy & I...no real "formula"...but we do tend to agree on both money management and politics. We both prefer a "low key" lifestyle. Neither of us go to church.

Thanks bud. I can't really say exactly what the success is. We love each other. We love our kids; they love us. We are both service-types; me in the military, her an RN. We encourage each other in education, leisure and we have a good mix of being together and leaving each other needed alone time. We get a lot done and we never fight. It's a mix of right things/personalities/chemistry I guess.

She responds its still my house too since its not in the decree.

I say, well if you read the decree it incorporates the property settlement agreement into the final 0rder. Yup....the PSA you signed. The one that states I gave you $XXXX as consideration for your interest in the house. The one that says you relinquish all ownership, right , possession to the house.

Game over....9 months ago.

Her: I coming with the sheriff and an appraiser....I want to refinance the house. Oh...you mean MY house. Geee....appreciate the thought. But ain't gonna happen.

So I gotta sit at home and wait for her posse to show tomorrow.

BTW....already warned the Sheriff and given him a copy of the decree.

WTF?

Perhaps I live in hindsight but looking in the rearview mirror, I am so glad I divorced my first wife. Fortunately I did not have children. If you feel something is wrong with a relationship the sooner the better to get out. If in doubt before marriage get out of it. If not happy before kids, get out. If you are not happy and have kids, then it is too late. Committed. I was lucky to escape and find a decent honest wife. Will be married 25 years next July to 2nd wife. No regrets

Obviously she still loves you, a little, and won't stop until your life is miserable. She cannot see you happy without her.

I think you two should get over it and get re-married!

One of my buddies got married in 2001, a few hours before I moved to San Diego. In the summer that lead up to the marriage, they were already in counseling. I told him to put off the wedding, or as a minimum to postpone it.

They divorced in 2004.

I think everything you posted should be in GREEN

I seriously doubt she has any positive feelings remaining for me...and that is fine for me.

I must admit there is passing curiosity about what motivated this las encounter. Not enough to pursue what's going on in her world, but still alittle curiosity,

I just learned something new from Pelican. I had never heard the term Jake-Leg Lawyer ....

From teh Intarwebz:

Jake-leg is indeed an interesting American term. In the sense in which your father used it, it’s a variant of jackleg, a person who lacks the skills or training to do a job properly or who is unscrupulous, dishonest or without standards. Jackleg was created on the model of blackleg, with the first element changed to the name Jack, perhaps from a derogatory sense it had at the time. The first known example, from 1837, refers to a jackleg lawyer.

The Dictionary of American Regional English records jake-leg in the same sense as jackleg from the 1960s onwards. It may have been influenced by jake (probably from Jacob) in a Southern US sense of a rustic or uncouth or inexperienced man. However, the most probable reason is confusion between jackleg and an earlier sense of jake-leg from the 1930s.
You sure you're from the South? LOL

The opposite of love is not hate. The opposite of love is apathy. I expect she still has some feelings, even though all that is left it the part that is mad/jealous.

No doubt, though, she is looking for money. Something it wrong...Keep your distance.

Sounds like the divorce decree was pretty clear. Its your house. So maybe she is suffering from some sort of mental illness. For the safety of humanity you should have her sent in for observation. Maybe a few days in a straight jacket will teach her to leave you the f aolne.

I guess its money...either that or her new 74 y.o. "benefactor" has come to his senses.

We may never know....and that's keen with me.

It always boils down to just two things - money or sex, every thing else feeds into those two things. When things are good it is because you have both but things turn to shyt when you don't have enough.

Regardless of what may be on paper I can tell you that means nothing to some women.

Recently I sold an investment property and after clearing the debt I made a smallish profit. I then made the mistake of telling my eldest daughter who then told her mother.

I've been separated/divorced from my ex for nearly 10 years and she still asked me for 50% of the profit from the house I just sold.
I bought that house after our divorce was finalised!

Somehow in her mind she thinks it's owed to her. I actually asked her about it and she told me she should share in any profit making venture because she gave me children and the best years of her life.
........ She is truly deranged.
