I've done a half dozen batches in the same fermenter by simply draining the fermented beer and then adding fresh wort. Really saves on the cost and it really kick starts the fermentation. You do need to be doing similar beers or going darker. I used Wyeast 1028 and 1098 for most of my home-brews.
My typical would be a "triple" fermentation. Really a primary fermentation for a week, followed by racking to a secondary fermenter to let it finish out, then racking to a third, to let more solids settle out. So, after 3 weeks, I then would rack to a corny keg and chill along with force carbonation. It was about a 4 week cycle. Moving the beer after one week was mostly to free up my primary fermenter. I was doing a batch every Saturday for a while.

Yes, even us brewing pros have to go to the bathroom somewhere and those have such an easy to hit large diameter top cap/hole.

Quick update: The Cherry Wheat that I brewed last summer and kegged has turned out really nice! Beth tried a glass the other day and she was very impressed. The next time I pull a glass, I'll take a few pics. The beer has a nice reddish-brown color, is clear, nice head and Beth loves it!

I've been brewing a lot lately, working on recipes for when I take it to the next level...
Currently have three brews on tap, a belgian pale, an IPA and a bavarian style hefeweizen which is perfect for the 100+ degree heat we're having this week. A pic of the hefe

I'm going to brew a cherry pils very soon for my neighbors. They like "light beers" and cherry flavored beers (I know, I know...), so that's what I'm going to make for them!

Reviving this thread to show off the new toy I scored for an incredible price!! It will hold up to 16 corny kegs so I'm going to need to get busy brewing.... I will have to add several more taps to the towers but I think two will get me started.

I have the simple kit like the diagram on page one. I have made an IPA & an Octoberfest. I usually get around 50 bottles from the 5 gallons brewed. It is fantastic beer ! So far I have been buying the kits with all the needed ingredients.

These seem pretty expensive for what you get - and it's easy (like you need no new equipment) to go beyond this level.
See Extract Kits : Northern Brewer These are pretty good quality kits with steeping grains which give a bit more flavor. That web seller in general has good stuff and good advice. They may not be the best or the cheapest but they're consistently very OK. Get a huge pot. That's my advice. Do full volume boils. That was the biggest jump in the quality of my beers. You have to learn to adjust the recipes for that (late malt addition, etc...) and it makes a world of difference.
