I have the probe coming up in a month. I'm kind of looking forward to it because 1) I've never slept so well as with that propofol and 2) the post-procedure meal at Red Robin was one of the best I've ever had. I'm staying in a fancy resort in Puerto Rico now, everything is paid for and the expensive meals do nothing at all for me. I really look forward to that post-scope burger.

My next one is Friday morning . Prep is the worst part the procedure is easy . Good luck to all .

I may mis-remember, but wasn't that what caused M Jackson's death?

It is an awesome drug though. I really liked it. As in, don't give me a bottle of that stuff. Soooo much better than the verced they usually push me for my (too frequent) upper GIs.

I've never done the other end, but at 47y I'm guessing it's coming sooner that I may like...

I survived it :)

They took out two polyps which he said didn't look cancerous but are going to be checked at the lab. He took pics of the existing moderate diverticulosis so they can go on record. He said he didn't know why there had been bergundy coloured blood (blood from somewhere well up there) but it looked OK.

Good luck to the next round of Pelicans to get checked over.

Just got cleared for 10 more years!

I don’t mind the prep at all. It’s refreshing!

I get the camera treatment in about two hours

Good luck, hopefully you will get a clean bill of health.

Jokes aside gents...

If you're over 50 and haven't gotten this done, go do it.

Its the difference between one day every decade spent reading books on the john and "Sorry, you've got colon cancer and 6 months left."

Thats a really stupid stubborn way to die.

Still feel a wooosey today. I thought a good sleep would have fixed that. All that God aweful Kleenprep drink then the sedative.

I had my last colonoscopy back in November of 2022. They told me I was good for ten years.
When I had my follow up with the doctor, I told him I wasn't comfortable with 10 years, 5 years is better.
Can you imagine... 10 years you have the procedure and they tell you afterwards, "Too bad you didn't come back sooner, we might have been able to save you."

tops911 03-01-2023 12:52 PM

due to family history, I have to get one every 5 years.

If you're up for it, not a bad idea. It is highly unlikely but a polyp can form and turn cancerous in 7 years as I understand it.

Just received the results from my latest FIT sample sent in. (same as cologuard)
Negative...good to go.

Agreed.

I have constant issues with my PSA levels being right at the high limit of 4 or slightly above, and I've had 3 colonoscopies now--at 50, 55 and 60, and there were non-cancerous polyps removed each time. I remain on the 5-year plan.

To me the minor inconvenience of the prep is totally worth the effort, and since I eat pretty cleanly to begin with I really don't have too many issues with the purge.

I will say that the biopsies on my prostate are much worse overall than any of the colonoscopies have been, and that's no exaggeration.

I have a little over an hour before chugging the magic anal volcano juice 😋 . My appointment is tomorrow morning at 7:15 . I had Jello for lunch and some broth for afternoon snack ........ Yummy 😁 . But it's not much of a sacrifice vs the potential rewards .
