Went the pill route over the liquids. I didn't mind it that much as long as the bathroom is nearby and free.
The sleep drug was amazing |
I am now home from this mornings procedure . Doc said my prep work was excellent and he had a good view of everything . They removed two tiny polyps that he said visually looked fine . The lab will confirm . He believes my next visit will be in five years .
My lovely wife is preparing breakfast for me as I am typing this . Today will be a day of rest and tomorrow back to usual . Good morning overall and glad it's over . Sadly no missing 10mm sockets were found 😋 |

They didn’t find my keys either, even though when I asked her previously the GF said, and not nicely, that’s probably where I put them. |
Tonight , its my turn. Not eating since dinner last night was not as hard as I thought it would be . I may just start fasting one day a week .
Hold on a minute, I gotta use the can. Getting old is no fun |

They could also order that new Starbucks drink with the olive oil. I've heard it is very effective. |

Yeah baby, no irritation, no polyps no nuthin'! I'm eating bacon sammiches all day today!!! |
Anyone working on a car or something, and wouldn't mind me hanging out this evening?
The wife is starting her prep. This is her second go round, she did not do well with the first one, ended up throwing up before she finished the "juice". She got a different drink this time around, no pills, and she's a few sips in and already complaining. Lots of whining. I've had two so far, didn't really mind the prep at all, other than the obvious. Maybe I can find something to work on in the garage, even though it's really hot out there. No, I have no empathy at all. Update. We're less than one hour in on the prep, and she's quitting. Canceling the appointment. Update 2 - She talked to the hospital's nurse advisor line, and they talked her into continuing. Told her to put a popsicle on her tongue to numb it. We will see how it goes. |
Tell her that my DILs Mom put it off too long and is now in stage 4.
|
My college room mate put it off and is now stage 4 as well. Really sad.
She needs to stick with it. If possible tell her that there are a bunch of Pelicanites that wish her the best. OH, and don't forget the really good rest you get with the propofol. |

Edit: Sorry I didn't have my glasses on and misunderstood the popsicle thing. |
I have another round of fun coming up. I'm scheduled for my every other year deep dive on Monday. I asked the doc for Suprep but the insurance co denied it and I got Gavilyte-C.....mmmm.
The Suprep was not too bad compared to the other preps. I have a new GI doc and I have to start 4 days prior to the procedure eating only bland non colored foods. Last time the doc took 20 biopsies. The joys of having Crohns! |
She finished the prep. A little late, i hope it isn't going to be an issue. We leave for the appointment in about 20 minutes and she just rushed off to the bathroom again.

I guess I should have clarified "issue" I didn't want her grabbing my arm half way there with a "we need to find a bathroom NOW!".
She came through with no issues like last time. The last time she had it done, she threw up the muffin they give you in the recovery room, was sick for days afterwards. Different mix of meds this time, both for the prep and for the actual procedure. She was able to walk to the car. Last time we used a wheelchair. She's napping now. I asked her if she wanted to stop for something on the way home, she said no. We are having a greasy Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza for dinner. |
Good on her for completing it, and now time to enjoy some food http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo.../cheeburga.gif
Ha, in the room afterwards they handed out chicken sandwiches and I thought OMG this is the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. And good luck with the results. I got my results, finally, about a week ago and it was "everything is OK (enough)" and see you back in a few years time. |
I wanted to say happy ending, but I think I will go with Congrats!

It is happy colon time for me!
My doctor has me buy from a web site a box of "Happy Colon Foods" that is really not too bad. Orders of magnitude better than the horrid "Go Lightly" gallon of camel snot treatment. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1693165727.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1693165727.jpg The box of food has the prescription laxatives included, and I had to use the doctor's code to order it. $69.24 and I did not bother tying to get insurance to pay for it. I forgot to get the chocolate chip cookie and the shortbread cooking out of the box for this photo. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1693165312.jpg Everything is in the box that I get to eat during the prep day. The Oatmeal was not bad, the shortbread cookie is not something I would normally bother with. Mac and cheese lunch was not the worst, but no restaurant will stay in business serving it. The powder I have to mix into 20 ounce of water is flavored with my choice of Orange or Lemonade powder. It is typical of any powered drink flavoring, and is not bad, but it has the weird aftertaste of all artificial sweeteners. I don't drink any sodas or use any sweetener in tea or coffee or anything at all, so this is a funky aftertaste for my tongue. Too bad they don't have beer flavoring! Anyway, there is no Saturn 5 rocket launch " bowel movement" and it is not horrid. The worst part is I have to get up at 2:00 AM tonight to take the last dose and chug the last 20 ounces within 5 to 10 minutes. I drink a LOT of water everyday. So far, drinking the funky orange drink has not been an issue at all, and in fact, I am drinking water in between the doses of the meds. I don't know if my colon gets happy today or tomorrow. |
Is this what Bill Anders referred to as a "low residue" diet during Apollo 8?
|
The day of prep was not too bad.
Some of the worst was setting the alarm for 1:50 AM to wake up, and go mix another batch of 20 ounces of water and the magic powder with some flavoring in it. And I had too suck it down in 5 to 10 minutes. Screw 5 minutes, I wanted to go back too bed, so I drank it all in 60 seconds or so. Then back to bed, get up twice to visit the throne room, after that dose, and then up at in the shower at 5:30 to get to the hospital by 6:30 to fill out lots of paperwork, then wait for 45 minutes to go to the prep room, put on the hospital gown, and wait until 8:00 for the doc too come in and talk to me. I got the nice Michael Jackson special IV and off to sleep. Everything came out OK! No polyps, or bad things in there. Come back in 5 years to do it again, oh joy. |
