That car did a demo lap at the 2024 Las Vegas GP. It sounded badazz.

Somebody ride a Vespa up your flue? I’ll bet that’s not a day you want to relive!

My 02 Boxster S has two of the four cats removed. It still passes CA and OR emissions and sounds so much better than it should. Once you get to 4K RPM you sort of want to continue clear into the limiter. It truly is one of the better cars I have heard. Not the best. But very very good.

Rotaries sound great.
I stop to listen to all of these. My budget V8 650hp 8200rpm affordable compared to anything here. |

My love of the 911 started in in 1973 when a few P3 navel fliers out of Moffet Field rented the house next to us when I was like 7 years old. One of them had a silver 911 that when he drove it down the street it was the greatest thing I ever heard. Dude pulled the chicks and let us help wash it every could weeks. He and my pops got to be friends, pops cutting up our 69 vw bug in the driveway to make a baja bug helped, but dude also bought a dirt bike that my pops hauled to ride with us for a year or two.
He was transferred to the Phillippe's, but I will always remember how that siver coupe sounded.

I love the exhaust note of the Mustang GT350. The GT sounds really good IMO but I think a lot of those have aftermarket systems installed.

I've always liked the exhaust note of v8 mustangs. Other aspects of the car not so much. The recent versions are impressive cars though

I like my custom muffler which is just straight through from George's headers. No at speed sound unfortunately. Would love to put some cams in some day but don't see that happening soon. Also want to go to 3" pipes through the bumperettes. The 2.5s are a little small.

Exhaust pipes through the bumperettes is a really cool idea, I’ve never seen that done.

Probably the preferred exhaust sound says more about the listener than anything else.
I’d think for me it’s that old 8 cylinder Porsche f1 engine. But last year a carrera gt went past the other way while I was riding my bike. It was loafing along doing 30 and it was just so quiet and perfectly synchronized. Had a delicious ring to it. Guy noticed my agape expression and touched the throttle and the blip was super fast almost like an f1 car. |

agreed, a 1953 BRM F1 with the V16 is probably the best sounding engine ever. 44 seconds is otherworldly. loud as it will go for listening pleasure.

![]() I think that would be pretty badass. You may need a metal outer tube and flange for an air gap to prevent melting the rubber. I think that would be a pretty clean way to integrate the exhaust in a period specific way.
