Just amazing watching those boats go 8 feet out of the water at 80 mph.

I had one, nobody believed that the stock exhaust was stock. Still miss that thing and would definitely buy another.

Accidentally, I happen to own one of these. It has very distinctive sound (flat crank W8 with unequal length headers).

And if I could have only one car for my lifetime, this would be it:

Well when you want to crank up the surround sound or sound bar....the start of the Lemans race with that flat 12 917 going from 0 to 6K in nanoseconds puts all others to second place! YouTube has it at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPjhb3D587Q
Anyone know who the flag waiver was for that race? |

I like the deep outrageous RPM note of the 917 in the movie.
See 34 seconds in.

My all time favorite is a well tuned Jaguar XKE 3.6 or 3.8 L inline six! The XKE was described by Road and Track's Henry N. Manney III as being "the greatest crumpet catcher ever made"!

I like the sound of my 911 with stock exhaust.
My Speedster has an ancient Bursh extractor with a muffler that rotted out inside years ago. It makes Harley riders turn and stare. Running that thing through the gears brings tears to my eye and makes me laugh out loud at the same time. The Matra V-12 that ran at the Watkins Glen F-1 race in the early 70s was the most hair raising sounding engine. It just screamed. I was standing near turn 11 listening to the Matra come from way up the main straight on that sad day in 1974.
