NYC in the late '60s when everything was changing and inner-cities were becoming crime-ridden.

Yes....did you notice the purposely loud sirens in the background - not only in Peggy's apt. but also DD's pad. Very loud as if to convey the aspect of crime and violence.....

Well that was satisfying......I've said it before and I'll say it again....it's not that great a show without the advertising content.
Avon...Chevy....Manischewitz...... The political and cultural backdrops are also a gas! I think I remember a "Lotus" in high school...lol! Loved the ending too....maybe this will mellow Pete out, who knows?

I don't know when the season is over for MM, but I won't miss it when there are no new shows to watch. I think I'm done. |

It was a better show last night. It shows that Draper is human - susceptible to drugs but the booze does not fizz on him. Still entertaining though. Yep if it carries on next season it could be a struggle. Still not enough cars to make me happy.

I forgot about Carnation. That was cool. Instant breakfast. For the adult on the go! Haven't had any of that in years....but worth looking into again.
That advertising works pretty good!

Don is getting close to his health issue/heart-attack. He was so bewildered in the lobby after Sally busted him boffing the neighbor I was sure it was about to happen.
Pete gets his nastiness from his mother. The new guy hits on Pete. Didn't see that coming! Pissed that Don tried to feel-out the GM guys on the draft-deferment favor. Didn't seem Don-like to risk a huge biz deal on something like that. I still think Don has a heart-attack coming and his neighbor the heart doc saves him and, by then, knows Don was doing his wife. Maybe that's too predictable?

Is it just me, or does anyone else think there could be a connection between Pete's life continuing to fall apart and the fact that he's got that rifle in his office in preparation for going hunting with the GM boys? I think all it would take is for one more shoe to drop and he'll be ready to end it. I'm thinking misfire, though... I don't see him being "successful."

Yeah, but I think something's gonna go wrong with that. I don't think those GM guys are gonna take a liking to him and/or Roger or Don will take the account away from him. Something bad is about to happen... I can smell it. His wife is leaving him, there was that disaster with that woman he was seeing on the side, his mom is demented and may be having a fling with that caretaker guy, Bob Benson made some kind of a pass at him, NObody likes or respects him and he knows it and it bothers him a lot.
I dunno. I just think he's the prototypical tragic character and is about to implode.

Guess we'll soon see. That last scene with Bob Benson was interesting though - I think he's just keeping him around because he knows he screwed up with hiring him. Could be a twist to that situation in the last episode. I do think DD is on the edge. No idea how that will play out.

Yup. Pete made some snide remark about Bob as they were walking through the GM lobby - Bob had the last laugh by (along with the GM big wigs) manipulating Pete into driving the Z 28, a manual transmission, which Pete had trouble with - putting it into reverse and running over the GM entry signage. That was unreal.....

Dons life is falling apart, but I really don't see why they put him on leave though...With all his baggage and BS, he is the creative force and deal sealer...The Hershey incident doesn't seem that big a deal to me.... If everyone in the office saw his shenanigans, of coarse, yes, but they don't see what we do...The show didn't let on that the office knew about the assault and night in jail..Maybe they should have made that clear...
