So sorry for your loss. 19 years is a very long run! As one owned by 2 amazing Blue Heeler girls (approx. 10 Y/O), I can't imagine the pain you are feeling. So much devotion from this breed you feel guilty every day that you are just a lowly human. RIP Skipper - somewhere down the road you'll greet my 2 girls and show them the ropes at the bridge. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1452047547.jpg |
I have not posted in this thread for awhile. My heart goes out to all of you that have recently lost your furkids. It seems there have been quite a few that have recently passed. Damn! I know how it feels. It sucks. I am looking at Olive right now curled up on my wife's lap with a nice "binky" wrapped around them and thinking how lucky I am.
My condolences and best thoughts for all of you that have given your furkids the love and devotion that they deserve all the way to the end. Okay, going to try and get rid of the lump in my throat now. :( |
My brother and his family just lost their 13 year old rescue "Pepper" last week.
So they went out and rescued another...introducing "Sage"..... https://scontent.ftpa1-2.fna.fbcdn.n...f1&oe=573EA2F2 |
Sage is a cutie. Olive approves.

We said goodbye to Hemmy a while back.
This one will try and fill his pawsteps in a few weeks when he's ready to leave the nest. Marley (our buddy's soon to be new best furry friend) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1453672300.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1453672362.jpg |

Our 13 year old Weim is skin and bones, eats two cans and kibble a day now, has started peeing and some times pooing in the house.....
And we still love her like she was a puppy :D |
^^^Now that is funny. Baz's post.
stealthn, We have a 18 year old cat that is going through the same time. Kind of hard to be mad at them when they are that old. |

I took lucky into the vet again Friday before last to have another tumor removed.
This one almost got though the wall of his intestines but the vet said he got it all without too much cutting. doggy recovered quickly (he's used to it) and is still putting weight back on and looking good. But something happened to him this time. Don't know if it was a stroke or bad anesthesia monitoring or what. But he is not the same mentally. He gets scared easily when he thinks he's alone and now he barks, never did that before. He gets lost and can't find his way around. He bumps his head on everything there is, he has an eye infection because he scratched his eye on something he ran into. He walks in circles sometimes, but rarely in a straight line anymore. He isn't housebroken anymore. he makes it outside most of the time but goes on the patio instead of the grass. I had to build a fence around the pool last week because he fell In twice, only did that once in 12 years before. With those little legs he's not much of a swimmer and can't see to find the steps, I was afraid my wife or son would find him floating in the pool one day. It seems like it's one step forward and two back. |
Yo Sammy - as much as I really hate saying this - he may be getting near the end of his run.
No way am I telling you what to do. I'm no expert on canine health - your vet would be that person as well as a few on here (Siberian for one). Huge respect to you for giving your all to your companion, as he has done for you all of his life. Please give your buddy a belly rub and head scritch from my 2 girls. Praying for you both..... |
