Hahahahaha

I didn't even pay any attention to those bits in the oak trees. Those are nothing more than clumps of mistletoe in the bare trees.

Now I am no arborist or horticulture but I believe mistletoe is a fungus that grows in our Oaks in CA. Ok, I had to look up one of the words you mentioned "saprophytes", so by definition, you are spot on... well played!

Cheers

A heartfelt tribute... She was a good dog - Album on Imgur

GG Allin 03-10-2017 08:22 AM

Had to put down Lana this morning, an 8 year old Maltese. She was a great, very loving little dog. I've never had to put a dog down before and it was absolutely terrible. She didn't suffer, went quickly and quietly. I think someone was chopping onions when they injected her! She was pretty much my wife's dog and she is devastated.

I started a thread 2 years ago about a disc issue she was having. She recovered from that but her heart started to go, over the summer (valve issue). In the past two days she really started to get worse.

Sorry to hear that GG. Making that decision is one of the hardest to make. Feels like someone cleaves out the heart in your chest with a dull butter knife.

She looks like she was a great family member.

Dog's are soooo damned smart. With the master bath remodel in full swing, an army of workers are in the house by 7am. We noticed right away that Tank was staying close to my wife. He started walking her to the door in the morning when she leaves, a new behavior. When they're not here, he doesn't do it. When the workers are here and I leave, he literally won't leave her side and growls at every sound. Now the workers won't come unless I'm home. Good boy Tank!

Bravo Tank!!! They know!!! Our ancient cat hates our oldest. I always tell him that animals sense evil.

Rest In Peace our sweet girl. You will be forever missed. We still can't believe it's real. Nothing loved is ever lost.

Our first lab would not let any men in the yard unless I was home or my wife met the guy at the gate and escorted him. Our current one on the other hand. Well, lets just say her song is "Why can't we be friends".

Our Lab 1.0 was great with the kids. Though after the finger in the butt incident she didn't lay as close.

What I did was get a manually-operated zapper-collar and took Cap out for walks along the entire perimeter of the property from day one.

As he grew older, we ventured inland wherein he had full freedom to range at will. It was actually very rare in which he had to get zapped. Of course, I whispered to him to be careful near the edges.

I was very pleased the first time I saw him chase a deer right up to the prop line and dead stop in full aggression mode.

bugstrider 03-25-2017 08:16 AM

Nope! Not going out in the rain. I'm perfectly content with pooping in the house, thank you very much.
