Well, I'm duly impressed, no doubt. However, I watched Urs Gretener hand build the body for an RS 60 and when it was done, it looked all of that good. He built the bucks, then the panels plus restored the frame and the rest of the car. There was not piece of CNC equipment in his shop. If he had to make that grill, he would have made it piece by piece and welded it into the finished product.
While I truly admire the concept and the overall design, not to mention the quality of the finish, a guy like me can actually do some of that. John Wlihoit has all the trick pieces for the cammer motor including EFI and an alternator. Here's a sample of his twin plugged EFI goodness on a push rod motor with the alternator:

Exquisite!
I know I'm twisted (hey, it's the only reason you guys let me hang out) - but as nice as that engine is, I sure would like to see a POLO in there. Then again, I would gladly PUSH that beautiful car from place to place! ![]() angela

What's a POLO? And do you still have the 550 with the 911 motor? Great car.

Yes, we do still have that car. Mucho fun!
The Polo is basically a 4 cylinder 911 engine. This thread has some good pics of one. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-912-technical-forum/624629-polo-engine-912-almost-done.html They rev like a turbine and are just about indestructible. In my humble a opinion a work of art as great as this car. angela

Oh, OK, I know about those. Never understood why but there's lot of things I don't understand.
I'd like to hear one. Do they have a flat crank?

Make it out of 21 gauge sheet metal. Not too many details. Keep it simple along with the Engine and displacement and make it a type of introductory car, the 914.
Don't mean to insult the Porsche diehards here but what if? At least then, maybe I could afford one.....a used one.

It sure be nice seeing something like that -affordable-buzzing around rather than -some of the boring and lifeless engineered crud you see all the time. AND driven by grandma's.

I don't like the wheels
I'm guessing this is one of those "if you have to ask" price tags? Dang gorgeous car though!

Why do you think this is a kit car? My impression is that this is a one-off hand crafted car.
We build "kit cars." If this is being offered as a kit, then I would be most interested. Probably along with quite a few other people on this site. angela

Same here. I totally get what they were going for, but I can't imagine fake steelies are gonna be great for brake cooling, and they look weird with modern sizes and tire profiles, even when both are conservative by today's standards.
