Pennies are not considered legal tender, fyi. It is why they are "OK" to use when testing the sharpness of your shears, ok to use for lining your floors and bar-toppers and flatten in all sorts of souvenir penny-squishing machines.

Seriously, how does that work. Does the bare surface of the coins hold up to foot wear, or after some years do you end up with patchy zinc (or whatever the coin base metal is) trails through the tarnished copper floor?
