Here is Aim's lowers page. You can build a lower with simple tools. Or just buy a complete lower. Barreled Uppers from JSE Surplus are cheap.

Should be picking up my FAL in an hour or so. Can't wait to dig into it and start the modding game.

Only mods needed are the semi-only selector trick, set your gas, and give it more ammo!

I know Nostatic and Z-Man aren't to be messed with, but you need an FAL to be a mod here? Wow, you guys are serious.

This is my current FAL, a Imbel kit built on a DCI upper. US parts are unknown and I don't care about 'cause I didn't build it, but I think they are the furniture, receiver, charging handle, piston, and lower (it is a DSA lightweight lower).

I gave the SNs to the police, but they have not seemed too concerned about the whole break-in. I guess they will put the numbers into the national database and wait for somebody to transfer or pawn the guns.

Yup. Either spend the $25 for the nice version from DSA (when they have them in stock) or take out your selector, notice the extra big notch for when it is in the fun position, fill it with jbweld, and cover with scotch tape while it cures to make it nice and smooooooth. Turns the rock-n-roll position into a second safe position.

I built my AR out of parts I bought (mostly) from Rainier Arms™ | Specialist in High End AR15s/M16s,Stocks,Grips,Parts,Accessories & much more. They were top notch and I enjoyed the build process.
It's an 18" White Oak SPR barrel in a VLTOR VIS 12" upper plus various other parts. One thing I do recommend is getting the longest gas system you can. That means if you get a 16" barrel, get a mid-length gas system. An 18" barrel lets you get a rifle length gas system and it will be more reliable with less recoil. I also have a Robinson XCR and to be honest, I like the XCR better than the AR.

Pistol caliber carbine ... if you have a Glock, get an Olympic lower that takes Glock mags.

Yes, I think a 9mm AR build is in the future too. But that means I need to get a Glock that also takes 9mm. I only have one in .40 now. Darn.
