I am sorry to hear. I can not imagine how you feel. I believe we live near each other, I am in Portland. Can I help? Larry |

My sincere condolences NC. I know exactly how you feel, that 'not knowing' is tough on a man.

Sorry for your loss, Cheese. Lost my dad to a brain tumor when I was 14 (he was in his 40's) and not a day goes by without being thankful I was old enough to know what a great guy he was and how fortunate I am because of him. I hope you can say the same about your father. That's how it should be.
Be with your family and those who need support. Your Dad would want that. Stay strong, bro. Respectfully your friend, Baz & the girls

Sorry for your loss. It may be a good time to write down some of your fondest memories.

So very sorry for your loss. Not expected is hard to deal with. My own father is in a home, he's 87, it could happen any day now. I know it's coming soon.

My dad and I were not close. Not enemies, just not close. The barriers between us were on their way down when he passed. The older I get, the better I understand him. He was a good man and a good father. As good as he knew how to be. I miss him very, very much and would enjoy having a beer and a chat with him more than I can express.
I am very sorry for your loss. The feelings you lack.....they will come.

Sorry about your Dad. I would not worry too much about what you're feeling or not feeling, father/son relationships can be complicated and run the gamut from extreme affection to complete indifference to hatred.
Whenever someone's parent dies and it's posted on this board, people tend to project their own experience with losing a parent to the OP. I understand the sympathy and kindness but it might be 180 degrees away from someone else's relationship with a parent. I wish you the best through it.

It is comforting to be with family at times like this. Even when no words are spoken, a glance, a hug, being together is the most important thing... even the smallest gesture will always be appreciated and remembered. I cried many times without shame.
Thank you for posting, NC. It is early morning here, a quiet morning. I'm lighting a candle for your Dad, and saying a prayer. _ |
