we will see Henry. I got my stock back from "Richards poorlyfit" as well. I got my work cut out for me ........get it.....cut out for me? I kill myself sometimes. We love Erte as well. Along with Frankart and fiesta ware and bunch of other stuff. The house here is pretty much furnished in old art deco.

Not one of my guns have pearl grips. All 3 are ivory. I have two pairs of red boots.

I stand corrected.... there is certainly nothing effeminate about ivory grips......

Pearl grips
Probably true, but original Colt or Smith pearls from the turn of the century are quite collectible. Especially the Colt grips from about 1910 thru 1919. These had the deep set Colt emblems that have the "colt" facing forward on the right side. Starting in 1920, Colt changed the grip insert to a "flush" style and used the same one on both sides, making the right "colt" face towards the rear of the gun. The deep set emblems were used on all of the optional grips, pearl, ivory and walnut that were offered at the time for $1.00 - $3.00 extra. Today a set of Colt ivories from this period will bring $200 - $300 just for the grips!

So I guess if you want the babes hanging around, having a gun they like to shoot makes sense.
Little pearl handled guns as well as big thumpers seem to get the juices flowing. (maybe not as well as red boots) ![]() 1908 380 ![]() ![]()

A reasonable theory Henry. Red boots? Some day I'll tell you a story about those red boots.

WOW! Are those really the right grips. I thought it came with the before grips. At any rate I like the grips marked Colt much better. Nice blue job. Very nice.

Gotta love those old Colts, Henry. Here's my taste in "old" Colts:
![]() ![]() I've got to say, with a number of first, second, and third generation guns having passed through my hands over the years, these latest (since the merger back into one company, the management shakeup, and turning over the finish work to Doug Turnbull) Colts are the best I've ever handled. And they shoot, too. Best part is, I can sell one truly old Colt (that doesn't shoot very well) and have enough for several of these. Just don't tell anyone...
