One must ask... Why? You can't carry it legally in most places.

I don't know of anywhere around me that would prohibit the carry of a 460 Rowland over any other pistol.

I took out the old standbys yesterday to poke some holes in paper and it was like I never put them down.....sometimes the old familiar things just feel right.

I know in OK, Your CCW only allows you to carry up .45 caliber weapons.

460 Rowland uses the same projectile as .45acp

I was cleaning up the safe and remembered this sweetheart.
Custom built by JJ Luke in 1966 for black powder competition. As far as I know, the only one in existence.
Inhale...hold...squeeze, hold, hold, hold.... relax, breath.

The thumb lever on the left is to activate the set trigger.
The last time I posted it, Dave offered me a 150 bucks.....I know, should have taken it..........

That front end of the muzzle should come off when you fire the pistol. It's purpose is to start the bullet down the muzzle without wearing out the crown of the muzzle, which would lessen accuracy over time.

Jeff Higgins 03-23-2015 03:43 PM

Looks more like a decorative end that is a part of the barrel. False muzzles are usually significantly oversize, to allow for the alignment pins. And they usually are not rifled.

Although it is removable, it is designed to be fired in place. IMO. The barrel is rifled but the muzzle is not rifled it is slotted and tapered.
The inside appears to be a funnel shape from small to large in the direction a flight.
Large enough where the bullet would not contact the muzzle during flight.

John Rogers 03-23-2015 05:09 PM

Both of my slug gun muzzle loaders are made that way. There is a slight amount of "funnel" shape right at the end and then for the next 8 to 12 inches there is some choke to the barrel and finally getting to the real bore at the patent breech. They are made to use Chase wrap paper patched bullets so there are no false muzzles involved.

I am looking for a 1911.

Is there a good place to look for used ones?

I will share a pic when I get one.

Come to one of the Carol Watson Auctions in Irvine with us. They always have a couple. Free scotch and free lunch. It's a blast.

Im in.

Looks pretty classy!

Last time I had a cocktail with some money burning a hole in my pocket I ended up with a 996.

This could be really fun.

The same thing will happen at Carol Watson, only instead of a 996, you could end up with a schuetzen rifle.

There will be at least three or four of us from the Porsche Owners Club and Aase Motors clan. At first they complained about us drinking all their scotch and eating all the peaches, but then they added up our auction totals. :D

Any one own an 1911 with an officers frame? I'm thinking of a commander slide/officers frame as a ccw piece. One question that I have is can a goverment magazine work in an officers frame? I know that the officers frame uses it's own mag when you want a flush fit and that's what it will be carried with but if I want to use any of my other mags can I ?

Bonus of 6 interweb points for pics!
