Just saw that gun sale background checks set another record this Black Friday.

What is the saturation point?

There is more people in the USA today. Many of these people come from countries that have been controlled by ruthless Communists or other dictators that forbid the ownership of firearms. I do go to ranges here in SoCal and I can tell you that the myth of Gun Owners being middle aged white males is far from the truth. I am a middle aged white male and a minority at the local ranges. 50% or greater are foreign born new Americans. Koreans, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Hispanic. I do see a large number of young gun owners and people that are new to the shooting sport.

Ladies are still a small number but 5 years ago I would see one or two every other trip. Now every trip is 4-5 ladies to 25 men.

This will be out of jail in 10 days.

Any owners of a Model 11 or Browning A5 that likes fancy wood but has plain wood to trade?

We had our Christmas do at Pistol Club on Sunday. One of the guys brought along a VERY good looking young chick. She said to me "I thought it would just be a whole lot of old guys with guns, and, well, it is a whole lot of old guys with guns but they sure are interesting."

We have a lot of Chinese turning up as visitors at pistol club and some are EXCELLENT shooters. Unflinching nerves of steel Most don't want to join up but rather come as an experiance.

Great video. I've always had a fascination with Confederate firearms.

Edit: Sold for $51,750.

Got a plain, unfinished laminate stock from Boyds for my 10/22 target rig.

Sprayed it flat black, took it shooting. Worked well, very accurate, but kinda rat rod ugly.

A buddy of mine used to be an air brush artist, and I fixed up his home network, running cables, configuring services, etc. Took about 4 hours, what I'd normally get paid $300 to do...

So I handed him my stock. And 6 months later, got the phone call "Well, I had to re-learn a lot and find a booth to use, but I think you'll like it".

Like it I do indeed....

And here's the beginning of my homemade Glock.

Got it all milled and drilled now, just waiting for some more parts to arrive in the mail. Probably took me an hour to take it from 80% to 100%. I hope to be able to take it to the range for testing next weekend. BTW, they're on sale at Brownell's now for $40 less than I paid two weeks ago.

I've been waiting for Cody Wilson to make this easy on me...

It's about as much as buying a new Glock, but the grip is way, way nicer. The 80% frame is $150. The complete upper is where they get you. You can buy them on eBay all day long, but the 23s are about $100 more than the 22s. These things just don't seem to depreciate. Then you need the lower parts kit. That's where you can go hog wild with customization, but you can probably get a whole thing sans frame on eBay for $400. I'm never going to carry either of these and I don't think I can ever legally sell them (though that would be hard to trace, due to lack of serial # on frame). But I just wanted a project to tinker with, and it's kind of satisfying to run these at the range, tune, rinse and repeat.

Palmetto State Armory has had some stupid deals for father's day. As in, possible to build an AR for $350 plus transfer fees....

Went a little higher end for nicer trigger, etc.

Complete upper w/ slim 13" m-lock hand guard and bolt/carrier group $250
Lower $75 w/ xfer
LPK w/ ambi safety and slightly nicer milspec trigger $60

Then from JoeBob's
an A2 stock kit for $70
combo deal for an Ergo grip (I wanted one), another ambi safety, reduced pull spring set, and an adjustable trigger screw for $35, putting the order into Free Shipping mode.

Repurposed some flip up irons until I decide which irons I really want. My other AR has a 20x scope on it, set up for accuracy. This one's a plinker and range toy, maybe 3gun or similar.

What's better than a .50 machine gun?

It was/is an effective sniper. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_Hathcock was confirmed at 1.4 miles out. The beginning.
