Well yes it's mine, hence the " i was long overdue"
Price, more then they go for in the US, i think. Pointless to compare US to European prices
And i don't think this is a battlefield pickup, it's been re-arsenaled , that barrel is to clean to have been used with (corrosive) ammo during WW2

I am thinking of Sig C3 purchase. Can anyone shed light on the weapon? I currently have a 229.

Is the C3 the 1911 with the Officer size frame and the Commander slide?

If so, I have heard plenty of good things about SIG 1911s. The only bad that I've heard is some fitment issues with made-for-standard-1911 holsters. I have shot a few SIG 1911s and have been very pleased with their performance. I just don't care for the way they changed the slide profile.

Remember going from your 229 to a C3, you'll be going from a capacity of 13+1 (if 9mm) to a max of 7+1. The manual of arms is also different if your 229 isn't SAO.

Yes, that's the one. Wanted a smaller carry weapon but cannot warm to the subcompacts. That's when came across the C3 and really was taken by it. Also considering the PPK Walther/SW now I guess, but that is a bit small for my hand. I do not care so much for "tupperware" / composite frames. My only experience with 1911 was when I was in the Army. Was not my issue weapon but we did train on them some. Thank you for responding so quickly. Yaz

I have the SIG FCA, which is a Commander size bobtail. I love it. But I will probably sell it. It was an impulse buy and I don't need it.

I love mine, but I've never owned any other 1911. Can't really compare it to anything else.

Cleaned and oiled it recently.

SIG builds very reliable spoons but they are clueless when it comes to the reason some of the common mods for the 1911 were developed.

These two pics perfectly illustrate why I think that SIG just doesn't "get it". The purpose of the roundbutt/bobtail is to improve concealability and reduce printing by eliminating the sharp point on the mainspring housing. Then they go and ship theirs with a non-flush magazine. WTF?

And of course mags require a bumper now...
