In January I’ll be joining the biggest gun club in the area, with all the facilities. I’m thinking I’ll want a “practical pistol” for those sorts of games. |

Its former possessor and how it was obtained make it a C&R firearm. However it is still a post-86 MG so it would need to transfer on a form-5 or -10 so no non-military, non-leo, or non-museum ownership. |

The PSPs and M8s are expensive, but the oddball stuff like the .40 cals and .380 with factory nickel or hard chrome finishes go for crazy money here. I've seen one locally for $17k.

I went to the shop yesterday to buy some pigeon decoys... Saw a promo on this, 30% off. Forgot all about the decoys and impuls-bought this Browning X bolt SF in .243win. (lefty of course) I have to go back to get the decoys now.... |

Not the straight pull model. I believe that’s the Maral, higher end than the X-bolt.
I have a Burris scope on my Tikka, which I’ll mount on the browning. Looking to buy a new scope for the Tikka for when I go to the range to practice longer shots. Ballistic turrets are a requirement. I need a decent scope but not looking to spend several thousands. Suggestions are welcome. I am planning to buy some more higher end shotguns and my budget is not unlimited.. First world problems, I know… PS, I did get the decoys I forgot yesterday :-) |

I have one on my dirt cheap sub-MOA savage 223 rig and love it. Are there better scopes? Yup. But you are gonna have to spend 2-3x the cost of the Mueller to find 'em. |
I’ve got a Mueller on an older (2003 or so) Rock River heavy barrel AR and have been happy with its performance.
On the other end of the spectrum I have a few Nightforce scopes (SCAR and Barrett) and they are really nice and sturdy but overkill for what you want. |

recent additions: - the indentical pair on the left. Successive serial numbers, from 1946 according to the stamps in the barrels.
