I made this clock out of a 52T Campy chainring and a 42T OMAS chainring: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1413920873.jpg |
I machined one down and put a hammer head on one.

I had a Gios Torino just like that. Crashed it into a car during a race when they let a car into the course. No one gave a rats azz about Jr. and both of us, the guy I was sucking wheel, went through the window and only part of me was went in. What a bloody mess. Fook up my bike.
What a damn shame these people did to the poor Gios. Too big for me anyway. |

I've wondered if TdF racers should use dropper seatposts. They could get even lower on the bike.

Also I realized there is a UCI rule about the fore-aft position of the saddle. The nose (peak) of the saddle must be 5 cm behind the bottom bracket, with exemptions allowed to 0 cm. Maybe a dropper post would cause the saddle to move forward too far. Some of these UCI rules should be relaxed, I think. The minimum weight rule is being reconsidered now. The rules against extremely aero tubing cross section, or frames that are not diamond shaped, seem outdated to me. “The peak of the saddle shall be a minimum of 5 cm to the rear of a vertical plane passing through the bottom bracket spindle. This restriction shall not be applied to the bicycle ridden by a rider in a sprint event on track (flying 200 m, flying lap, sprint, team sprint, keirin, 500 metres and 1 kilometre); however, in no circumstances shall the peak of the saddle extend in front of a vertical line passing through the bottom bracket spindle. The peak of the saddle can be moved forward until the vertical line passing through the bottom bracket spindle where that is necessary for morphological reasons. By morphological reasons should be understood everything to do with the size and limb length of the rider. Any rider who, for these reasons, considers that he needs to use a bicycle of lesser dimensions than those given shall inform the commissaires' panel to that effect at the time of the bike check. Only one exemption for morphological reasons may be requested; either the peak of the saddle can be moved forward or the handlebar extensions can be moved forward, in accordance with Article 1.3.023” |
Amazing! I can't wait for my long ride tomorrow! I met Tom Kellogg yesterday at Spectrum Cycles and Jeff did my bottom bracket install!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1414517616.jpg

The Merlin looks fantastic
Persistence pays off ... been searching for a 'reasonably-priced' TdF Coca-Cola water bottle for my '84 Gitane for well over a year and finally scored. This is vintage 84-85, the first years they were the official bidon. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1414523999.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1414524025.jpg |
Very cool Curt, you are going all out even down to the bidon.

You need a sacrificial Campy tool to make that. Or a laser engraver to fake the logo. |
Only use Coke classic in it.
