IIRC, it's a drained hydroelectric plant/reservoir in Hungary or Slovenia. Does that look like fun or what? :)

With winter fast-approaching, I figured I need a new project. Everyone's probably seen this pic of Sean Kelly before:

Well, that's my new project (not the legs, the bike behind them  ). It's a Vitus Carbone 3, one of the first carbon bikes in the pro peloton. I plan to refurbish this frame to full 1986 KAS-Mavic livery/specs with a Mavic SSC gruppo. Not easy parts to find so this will take some time.

King Kelly, my hero. Always socking it to them Belgian farm boys. The pic of his legs on the podium is even meaner.

Hey Curt!
Boy does that bring back memories! Awesome frame! I had a first generation Vitus. Looks like you have a third generation made by Alan. While it was a stronger frame than the original, the bonding agents used back then were never warrantied for more than 5-7 years. Great frame, fast as hell, watch your fillings! haha! good luck with it!

I picked this up yesterday as my winter project, I had some Ultegra wheels and a Dura Ace 9 kit laying around

New Ibis Mojo HD3. Available in matte black, the green machine, and a color they are calling "917." How can I resist?!

Ibis Ripley, Pivot Mach 429 carbon and Yeti SB95 C are the top contenders for me.

I have a set of the dark anodized Mavic brakes and the Mavic crank with dark anodized arms and "Mavic" pantograph. I was collecting these for my PY10FC build but I sold the frame instead. They do not say "SSC" though. Any possibility they are what you are looking for?

nikita76 11-23-2014 09:13 PM

How much for the cranks and brakes? any pics?
Thanks!

jyl 11-23-2014 09:30 PM

I will have to unearth them from the boxes. Will post pics later this week.

Wifey is doing the usual online coupon search and up comes up with this image. She laughs but bewildered and somehow its connected to Campbells. Shows me and as I take a closer look, noticed the Campagnolo. Weird but cute. :)
