Closest I can figure are an earlier version of yakima "big stack" sticks for kayak boat carriers.
Just a wild guess.

One other possibility is that it is a adapter to mount a ladies bike on a older traditional bike rack.

If there's one thing I dislike about 911's, is that they've become an attention magnet.

That said, tonight, I had to chuckle, as I was admiring this newer stang' (I REALLY like this newer model- it really does have nice lines :) ),
I liked the color, the sound, the stance, the lines are sexy considering bumper height stuff, etc etc.... I really like it.
I took some pics, only to later realize....

I'm betting that lady and her man were in a bike shop soon afterwards ;)

I think that is a very cool build, I don't know how you control it at speed with those handlebars but it is a 15 on the cool scale.

LOL- thanks. fwiw- It's sketchy above 25, but, only because I knocked the frame out of alignment when I hammered the chainstays in to get the cranks to fit from years ago. It's got a 102mm campy record bb and a q factor that pedals like road bike bliss, although, Let's say I've got some thrust angle alignment problems causing yaw issues. :D

Gonna try upping my game with this 35 year old book from Amazon:

LEAKYSEALS951 09-06-2023 05:47 PM

^Great book. Some of the best info out there on bike training is hidden in some $2 forgotten used book on amazon.

There are some great long distance cycling books from the same time period. Highly recommended. Something about a century, and then a book on riding a double century. I think "The Complete Book of Long-Distance Cycling" is a good one

In other more self gratuitous news- Pimpin my Nishiki. I found it in a ditch. I'm gonna go pimpin' white 1920's style tires and a ****eload of velo orange is coming in the mail. You might have to endure another pic or two of this as things get sorted out.

original "in ditch" pic":

Nishiki two (originally a Trek left in a trashcan) last damn pic you have to endure this summer :) -

And finally, the Cimarron, another freeby from the bike store I worked at, thus concluding my "frames were free but the parts are what get ya'" party pace fall line bike collection:

^what is it with Nishiki! I have a frame from a bike I rode in the 80’s that’s a Nishiki built by Colnago!

My 1984 Gitane Team Pro that I sold several years ago. Took almost 2 years to find all the correct parts to build it. Had a Bernard Hinault Turbo saddle and LeMond Super Record chainrings as a tribute. Even the TA bolts for the water bottle cages were 'correct'. OCD?:D

My 1985 Gitane Professional, also sold long ago.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1694083755.JPG

CurtEgerer 09-07-2023 04:00 AM

I think the water bottle was $125 - NOS original, not a reproduction.
