New hoods, new tape, and new straps! Now the weather needs to let up so I can go for a ride! |
Looks good, Sid. I like the yellow.
(The nose of your saddle looks a little low; it's all about preference, but I find a 'level' or horizontal saddle position to be most comfy.) |
Haha. Java dog already pointed that out as well.. I'm not done adjusting it, I just dropped the seat down to pedal around and make sure it all works. Haven't ridden it far enough to tell how out of whack I am. I know the seat needs to come up a bit though already...
|
Looks good....seat and brake handles look a bitt off to me.....seat ront a bit dippy, brakes a little high....but it could be big balls and small hands...
|
Well..............
Haha ill go ride it as soon as it decides to be spring again for a day and report back... I need to hunt down a set of tires now. The old Vittoria sew ups are holding air, but I know where I will be riding that they won't for long. So what should I be looking for in a replacement? Won't be riding in wet, and I would sacrifice some speed for durability... |
Hopefully you can reuse the tape....the seat is an easy adjust. Make sure the height is OK otherwise you will kill yer knees.
|
I'm not sure ill be able to notice if it kills my knees.... Got a fair bit of pain most days already. :(. But I know about where it needs to be. Ill get it close them adjust for comfort with some shorter rides.
|
Old men knees appreciate Speedplay pedals and you should have a bit of a bend at the bottom of the stroke.
I have three sets, if you wanna borrow a set...ask.....I'll send them to you to try out. Gratis.....just pay shipping send them back when you feel like it. Includes the plates for the shoes.... |
Thanks JB. I may take you up in that if I get to where I can ride regularly. Right now it's not worth worrying about as ill only get to ride a few times before I have to hit the road again for several months...

Vittoria Rally tubulars are pretty cheap and durable, though said not to ride as nicely as more expensive tubs.
|
That's what I've been looking at Jon. They look similar to the old ones too. Thinking ill get a set. Flying downhill on those old ones isn't confidence inspiring....
