My 20 yr. old aluminum frame mtn. bike at Oshkosh a couple of years ago. I'm coveting a new fat bike for my daily commute.

Baggy chain in #1794 above appears to be as a result of removing the rear derailleur - poor man's 'fixie', I guess.

Any of you roadie experts know of this frame?

I currently have another Winter build but spotted this Eddie Merckx CHM frameset at Nashbar (until 10:00pm today). Only two sizes available 46 cm (57 eff TT) and 50 cm (59.1 eff TT). I'm really after a 58 EFF top tube but could technically go with the smaller and just use a longer stem. Unable to find the year of manufacture. Comes with a CF curved fork. Guessing it might be a five years plus old stock. Made in Italy. Would like to build a bike having disc but this frame has no mounts.

Few years back spotted one of these conversions in a bike shop. The place was a mess and literally required stepping over parts and tools as one entered the front door. Store closed shortly after I was there. Owner wanted $350 for the snow conversion bike.
