Here's one of my bikes. '92 Cannondale R1000, originally was a full Mavic groupe, but this one got some weight weenie substitutions - Campy Record tubular rims, Hi-E hubs, American Classic seatpost, Avocet Ti saddle, Tioga stem, Scott bar. Weighs 17.8 lb. I plan to get it sub-17 lb, via a White Industries Ti bottom bracket, all-carbon fork, threadless headset and stem. I don't actually want to go threadless but losing the alloy steerer will save significant weight. The crank is a real pig too, I think the later starfish version (Mavic 631/2) is 50 g lighter.

The wheels were oem.

Bontrager and LeMond are owned by Trek as far as I know.....your levers went on the Italian Pimp Somec.

1980 Motobecane Grand Record I fixed up for a friend. Shimano 600 Arabesque throughout. This bike was a huge pain, fork had to be straightened and bottom bracket was frozen. But it turned out nice enough for the $215 he paid.

Raleigh Gran Sport (1974 ish) I hooked a friend up with. I've been looking for the opposite - white with lagoon blue accents, 1974-1976 - that was my college bike. This one was close but no cigar. I think it was $350?

Daughter's 1975? Peugeot UO-8. Mavic MA40 rims on the original Normandy hubs. VeloOrange fenders, porteur rack. Nameless aero levers and interrupter levers. Rides nice, as long as you're not trying to climb a hill.

Project bike. 1997 Vitus "997" (a 992 with ovoid carbon fiber tubes) frame and fork. Been slowly collecting the bits. Going to be 100% Campagnolo, mostly 9-speed era Record Titanium gruppo.

I worked for Pro Flex in '95.

The record number of cracks on one persons frame was 13.

The number of days of life a 856 would live in Santa Barbara if the rider road the trail "tunnels" was 47.5
