The always entertaining Boris Said (GT BMW driver) comment to a pit reporter a few minutes ago was along the lines of:

"...our BMW is running ok, but hopefully all those Volkswagens will break..."

(For those who don't know, the 2nd BMW team car was damaged before the race, so he is outnumbered by Porsche in GT by something like 18:1. And oh yeah, there are a few R8's in there as well.)

Yes fog rolled in right around dawn.....super think, at times couldn't see 100ft ahead.

During the long yellow flag early this morning, the streaming feed had some of the most amusing audio coverage of a major sporting event I ever heard.

The regular Motor Sports Network (MSN) announcers signed off, I guess, and various technicians (?) were making comments ("...bubba's now in charge...") and counting from one to ten over & over again for quite some time.

Oh, and at some points one heard low-fidelity 70's rock - Boston & Led Zep sometimes instead of the techs voices, and sometimes along with the voices.

In the live chat associated with the video feed, people were writing "c'mon 11!!" and other comments equally suited to the audio feed, getting more & more absurd as it went on.

I'm sure you'll see it on tosh.0 sometime soon.

All right, the night is over, the fog has lifted, and the race goes on.
Great fight in GT with Porsche and Ferrari duking it out for the lead ( got to admit the Ferrari does look fantastic) Audi waiting to pounce. Porsche cayman hippie car solid leader in its class.

In DP the corvettes are doing better than even they expected. But Ganasi, Pruitt and team totally dominating.

Loving the coverage, especially the Britt Andrew doing the pit interviews.

Lots more to go, this is going to be interesting in the last hours!!

How is it going for you that are there? Tough night by the fires? :-)

They used to have a commercial free last 30 minutes of the race.

Of course NASCAR is now calling all the shots....

What is going on with the 918? There was a mention recently here of another VW inspired high performance model in the pipeline. Any details on that?
