Even worse are the ones with the wrong cadence. My number is 55-55-23-45-56. WFT, tell me the three digit area code, three digit prefix, and then the 4 digit number.

And so many people seem to think an 800 number has to have the 1 first. This is 2019, I don't need to be told to dial 1 for long distance. And my cell phone does not care about the 1 anyway.

How about when someone leaves a voice mail and says their number as fast as they can speak, expecting you to get it.

There was a time when i would listen to the voice mail over and over until I could write the number down. Now I just go DELETE.

Electric pool pumps. Don't last, replacement motor more than a new pump. Have an expensive pump with digital display, variable speed that failed just out of warranty, no service info available. No compatibility between brands, or even similar models in the same brand. No standard for inlet height.

Rant over.

I feel you, Sammy.

I tend to use my Caller ID when I get voice mails...helps with those situations.

But since I cut way back on my work life, I hardly ever get calls any more anyway - a good thing.

On top of that, the Magic Jack caller screening feature removes all robo calls. Sometimes I go a week or two without any calls/messages.

Everybody, and I do mean everybody that has installed it, loves it. I’m sure I would have too. I emailed them and asked for a phone call back as I had some questions. NOPE. They emailed me back wanting to know the nature of my questions and specifically what they were. NO offer of a conversation. F’em. Customer service is dead and lost on these punks.
I own a small business, I prefer everyone to email their orders in.

I have an outgoing voice mail that asks you to please email.

I get emails asking to call.

I want email because it causes a paper trail, no he said she said.

I have a customer that does that, claims they called in an order (didn't) then wants us to stop the company and fix their problem because, in reality, he forgot to order.

My pet peeve is people who refuse to use technology.

Perfect example, I am delivering to my customers right now at 10 at night through email.

At 8PM I was emailing back and forth with a customer working out a problem. Now we do not have to waste time on it tomorrow during working hours. That customer is close to 70 years old and I am in my 50's. BTW.

My reason for posting. I am sure these peeves are posted here already.

Emergency flasher being used in the rain, makes my blood boil. Emergency flashers on the highway tell me traffic is stopped ahead or the road is obstructed be prepared to stop.

Not anymore, now idiots blast along with them on every time it rains. Idiots.

People who cannot merge onto roadways and think it is fine to mosey up the ramp at 20-30 MPH and try to merge on a 70 MPH highway with no regard to the train they formed behind them.

I just got back from a road trip these are fresh on my mind.

Employees/Staff members who complain about the way things are done but also complain when we try something new in an effort to address their complains.
Oh the joys of being a middle-manager....

Jim, I hear you to a certain degree. I have no trouble ‘using’ technology. I too own a small business. I too provide a service in sales. I exist due to the services I provide to my customers, THEY are king & queen, NOT me. IF you had a product that I was interested in but refused to talk to me AFTER I made the request then I’d be damned if I gave you a penny of the hard earned money I make by making my customers happy and SERVING them.

The smokers area outside of the entry door at work, I have to run the gauntlet, and breath in their toxic fumes. They also seem to be able to get away from their duties every hour like clockwork, and tend to be the ones who complain the most.

Good point I guess. I think it is unreasonable when people want to talk on the phone. Most of the time they are lonely older people who want to tell you their life story and tie up my receptionist on the phone for 20+ minutes.

To be honest, I do not want that person as a customer, they tend to never be happy and never stop pestering us. You need my service, I come out perform the task deliver the product and move on, they want to make it into something so much bigger, longer and more drawn out, to the point I am losing money on the job.

So that King or Queen is welcome to go to my competitors and run their business into the ground.

I do not have a website, I do not advertise, I have a great set of clients that order from me daily that keep me too busy as it is. When the economy is crap those are the people that keep my doors open not Joe Blow off the street who will be a one and done and expects me to put them before my day to day clients.

Right now my receptionist has a, "No off the street customers" order in place from me. We are too busy, if you email us right now that is the response you will get. We tell them we are about 4-6 weeks out, 99% of the time they need me in 1-2 days and move on.

If you email and ask us to call them, then 100% you will be told we are not taking off the street clients, since you already demonstrated you want us to stop our day and make you feel special.

When I have to call for a contractor I call knowing I am a one and done customer and in this economy, I am not important. It typically takes me 2-4 contractors before I can find one willing to fit me in.

Perfect example. My hot water heater failed. I felt I was too busy to deal with it, called a local plumber, I was told it would cost $1200 and be 2 weeks before they show up. I scheduled it. I understood, I am not important. Their day to day customers are. Most people do not get that.

I took one cold shower, went to Home Depot, bought a Hot water heater, and installed it myself. I called the next day and cancelled the appointment.

From 2008-2016 when the economy was crap? Yes, I would take on an off the street customer, they were extremely rare. When one did pop up, yes I would call them, hear their 30 minute story, go do the job, talk to them another 30 minutes when I was there, talk to them some more after it was done, I would have 2-3X the time in the job but then again, there was nothing better to do.

Now there is.

Sales people that spoof your business phone number.

An example. A sales rep from Avaya called but the caller ID was our facility name and phone number. It is not unusual for our people to call the main number auto attendant when they forget an extension so I had to answer it. Avaya will never get our business. There are honest companies out there so one and done if you pull this crap.

Back to the highway....dumbchits who are clueless when it comes to the concept of traffic FLOW.

Speed up and tailgate - hit the brakes - slow way down - then speed back up and on the bumper of the guy in front. Hit the brakes- slow way down - then speed back up - rinse and repeat....

Navigating a phone tree while entering all the usual info. last 4 #s of SS, date of birth, etc. etc.
Then you get a person on the phone and they ask for your name and DOB. I guess it is to double check but still - the phone tree already put me in a bad mood.
