I have a P250 subcompact that I bought for CC, just waiting on my paperwork to get through the system. Really nice little thing, fun to shoot. I enjoy a full size as well, hence my desire for a P226.

I think being in KS helps in this situation, because everybody already has guns. The ever-evil "assault rifles" are hard to find, but there's still plenty of the other stuff. Our situation isn't nearly as bad as some of you have posted.

Our local Walmart has no spoons and never did for some reason. They just have a locked case for ammo, which is OOS.

Yes, I realized it was full sized...so I imagine I would end up with a smaller one if I CC. Seems like we used a 226 in one of my units back in the day and it was a sweet gun. I will check out the others you mentioned as well.

mags that went for .99 cents are now $50.00! yeah thats a whole new language for alot of people.

back in 1986 the writing was on the walls. and if ya didnt see it well ya had a blindfold on.

using the SCAR as an example, any/all imports will be banned. everyone is screwed. then all cottage industries surrounding any platform fold, and we now have more unemployment.

yeah smith/ruger etc etc stocks have climbed, but what happens a year from now. market is glutted, stock prices fall.

i mean come on, how many spoons can ya own??????????

about the most EVIL thing out there right now is the ohio ordnance M-240 belt fed .308 semi auto. $13,000 last check. perfect praire dawg spoon! HA!

watch a year from now what that sucker goes for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

or ohio ordnance's BAR in 30.06 semi-auto.................all of them will go thru the roof.

yep it is a new language and its a new currency.
and if ya didnt grab it when ya could, well its too late now.

i have quite a few back orders right now for parts. will be interesting how long it takes before i receive items. and thats only on SCAR parts. all the others i purchased goodies for years ago.

and yes if i was stationed in the korengal valley...............i would have my SCAR!

LOL.

Hard to argue your point though. Anything firearms related is going up in value. Even if you ignore the assault weapons "bubble". My Springfield Mil-Spec 1911 was about a $450 gun in 2008 when I bought it new. Now it's $729 on the Cabelas website. Based on what they are going for on Gunbroker, it looks like I could pretty easily sell it for $600. That's not a bad investment.

looking at these prices across the board................where does it end?

another black market has been created. why? because if ya cant have it EVERYBODY WANTS IT!

we flew into action calling FFL dealers sat after shooting. it was very depressing. "do you have any SCARS?" "NOPE" over and over and over and over. that fast.

i literally got the last one here in phx i think on monday for $300 below MSRP! they have doubled. no parts, no mags, no barrels , no tools, no slings, no scope mts. hell even leupold can't deliver their DOD issue 3.5x10x44mm illuminated TMR reticle FDE scopes. BACKORDERED! over and over.

i will burn my visa to hell if i can find a 20" barrel for it. faster than a speeding bullet. i think it will become a HOLY GRAIL to find.

i have had good luck with thermold mags so far, we will see how the scar versions work out.

after my amigo blasted 20rds thru my SCAR.......................the grin ear to ear was precious. i about had a multiple ORGAZZAM after i lit off my 1st mag at 300meters DEAD NUTZ iron sighted from the factory. lasered off 300meters and just OBLITERATED the target.

less recoil than an hk 91 or a m-14. ergonomic mo fo. modular mofo. and its LIGHT! as in weight. every pound in the field is AGONY! its the 21st century battle rifle NOW!

cant wait to hit the next all weapons all countries all calibers iron sight 1000yd match shoot with it. to take down to firing pin requires NO TOOLS!

its a HOOT like no other. TOTALLY ODDJOBIAN APPROVED! if ya get a chance to snag one or shoot one....................DO IT!

I got my stainless SA Mil-Spec. for $250 delivered, but missing just a barrel. I rounded up the parts I wanted on eBay, handed it off to Robar and it came back a real sweet gun for way less into it than a new, plain jane one cost.

Diddo Rick. Mine is in .40 S&W but it is a very accurate pistol.

All this noise bout ammo shortages makes me wanna buy more ammo as well, and stores still got supply and normaly prices here.. Any more hoarding in the US and they'll jack up prices in Europe as well..

my state, alaska, is near saturation level gun ownership already. but this wave is starting to have an impact. the walmart has a sign taped to the front door apologizing for being out of .223. and .308 is getting very scarce. the local gun dealer has shipped all his scary black rifles south.

i know when the supply chain catches up we're last in line.

Rick, I'll just call you Sig-man if that's OK. What are your thoughts on the Sig X-5 and (maybe) better still, the X-6?

I'm not into SIG's race guns, other than perhaps the P210, which was a classic long before the others took off in the US. IMHO, their classic P-series platform guns shoot as well out of the box as anyone would ever need. I don't get the beavertail thing, since SIGs don't have hammerbite anyway. I don't want an SAO one, don't need a magwell and wouldn't carry anything with wooden grips. If you have money burning a hole in your pocket and shoot competitively, the X might be the gun for you. I am getting a little tired of SIG trying to become all things to all shooters. They come out with a new kind of gun every month. They still have never adequately promoted or refined their composite frame guns which they built to compete with Glock. Find what you do well and stick with it.

I'm happy with the .45 which is a gunsmith built up Springfield. But I hear great things about the X-5. Things like it's as good as the 210, and throw all the other guns away and just have the X-5 (X-6?) for accuracy and for action/service pistol shoots.

No luck for Fint or me, the p226 9mm was gone. Three nice used p226 in .40 for $699, which doesn't seem like much of a bargain. Rick, any opinion on the sp2022? They had new ones in 9mm for $499. I know some don't care for polymer frames, but I love my p250 subcompact.

That price is insane for an SP2022. I got my last one NIB for $365 delivered about two yrs. ago. I don't think prices have gone up that much, though maybe the hi-cap mags make it so. I LOVE that platform. I had the earlier version, the SP2340 in .357SIG. Got it in 2006 for $400 (Home Depot parking lot) with about $250 worth of ammo and accessories. Really wish I hadn't gotten rid of it. I traded it for a new Remington 700 plus $150 (gun show loophole). My SP2022 didn't shoot right. It was accurate, but the slide often didn't close all the way after cycling. I mailed it back to SIG, they replaced everything on it, sent it back and it still shot the same way. I traded it in a parking lot deal for a Glock 23. Anyway, if you get a good one, it's a great gun and can be dirt cheap. But my experience left me wanting to go back to the older version. The SP2009 and SP2340 should be cheap and reliable.

Where do you find your deals Rick? Gunbroker? Armslist? Just curious, I really don't know many good options beyond the local stores.

Watch slickguns.com every day. You can't snipe on Gunbroker because they extend the auction for 15 more min. every time someone bids within the last few min. Backpage can be good. And then there's SIGforum and Glocktalk. Our local gun bbs is great too, but those are all in-person parking lot deals, no shipping. I try to buy guns at prices that, if I had to pawn it in an emergency, I'd at least get my money back. I've screwed myself once or twice, but generally am way ahead.
