Anti "Ticket Camera" Plate Covers?
Any referrals on ones that work? Are they B.S.? Are they illegal?

Not legal in Va, but they only use cameras here for running redlights, you should get a ticket for that anyway.

They work and are available on-line.
Somehow they blur the image of a licence plate to a video or still camera. Illegal everywhere. The cops can see them using their event cameras and claiming you didn't know you had one wont help much.

Myth Busters gave all of them all (speeding camera license plate spoofers) a FAIL. Take that for what its worth.
None of the covers, plastic films or sprays did any thing. And you could see the pics, all clear as a bell. |

A guy in a GTi had them and they spotted him parked in a service station. They actually showed the plate cover and the image of the plate was blurred.

They later got rid of all of them (IIRC) because the stupid private company had shortened the yellow light to cause more fines and more revenue for themselves.

i seem to recall what they said was that it was not possible to split an arrow with another arrow. |

It wasn't possible to split it end to end because the grain would make it veer off. They got several hits where it took off a good chunk of the shaft but not a clean cleavage in half. Even when they built a housing with a slot to keep the arrow going straight.

The best way to keep from getting caught is to not run red lights, it could also save your life.

There are ways to do it but the general audience that wants such also wants it for free.
To do use such a device is illegal (legally your lp must be visible at all times). However such solutions(s) minimize shall we say the period where one is illegal..... Keep in mind though that many vehicles whether you requested it or not come with manufacturer location services. So I would not put it past "the collectors" to begin paying for access to such from the manufacturers and combining such "additional evidence". Fortunately there are ways around that too! Not only is "it's good to be King" but its equally fine to be an electronic engineer

Install a slave flash assembly near your license plate. It will over expose the photo.

Slave flash won't cut it. Or I wouldn't depend upon it. You can certainly feel free to do so though! It is relatively easy for "the collectors" to counter.
First, it's not a photo in the sense of old skool photography. It's either a video, where by they extract a frame or multiple frames. If it isn't video, it's single frames but rapid multiples are taken over a certain time period. Think of it as more than photo but not quite video. Second, a flash by nature is brief. It doesn't help if their capture window is longer than your flash window. Not to mention if such were not true, it would be necessary to align and time your flash the instant they take theirs. Well if for some reason they choose not to flash, how you going to know when to counterflash? Third, being a solid state camera, they can have automatic light intensity compensation. That is to say they can filter out moments of brief intensity. Fourth, being a camera one would have to cover all the cases. That is to say if you flash visible and the camera operates in the infrared, no dice. |
