I'd put the Miura in the top 5 most beautiful sports cars ever made, along with the Series 1 XKE (coupe or roadster), '63-'67 Corvette Stingray (coupe or roadster), Ferrari 250 GT Lusso SWB & probably the Ferrari 250 GTO.

But I still love my 911....

I like this post because the pictures uploaded of cars are beautiful. I voted no but it is in my top 10. I don't think I have a no 1.

The Singer 911 is up at the top of my list.

It is just like picking the most beautiful woman. Fortunatly for everyone there are different opinions on which is the best.

Compare this to the rolling bilboards now in F1. My all time favorite. ...

Lots of great choices. The Muira is near the top for me, but not all the way.

Ferrari 206 SP

Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Monza

Jaguar XKSS

Ferrari 330 GTS

I wholeheartedly agree with the E-type Jag and the Ferrari 250GT Lusso.

Some automotive designs from the late 1930s definitely turned some heads...like this '38 Delahaye.

Hard to ignore the Ferrari 250GT Testa Rosa either

And I'll also cast a vote for one of Bugatti's most stunning creations, the Atlantic coupe.

Judging by the fantastic responses and nominations for best designed automobile, my point is proven.
Oh, and generally I would agree, but life has taught me there really are stupid, and I mean in some cases seriously stupid questions.

Ask a hundred different people, get a hundred different answers.

After watching Clarkson blast through Europe in one of these I'd say one of these:

There are far, far too many beautifully designed cars to trim the list down to even the ten best.

I've always used "There are no stupid questions, but there are many inquisitive idiots."

Some of the boxier pics in this thread have left me scratching my head, but hey, de gustibus non est disputandum.

I got to see a TZ2 "in the fiberglass" on a local canyon road this past Sunday. Sounded great and looked gorgeous. Totally stopped me in my tracks as it drove by.

I could have limited this to production cars only or post-WWII cars, but still... against all comers, the Miura is still polling close to 1/4 of all votes.

Here are the five that I've owned in order:

Four were kits and one was a movie star. Can you guess which ones?
