I think the pricing for these cars is starting to pick up. I'm not sure I'd buy a regular 996, but the TT is very interesting. I think the regular 996 is still on the downside, but I don't know how much longer this will last. The cars with IMS issues will have been weeded out after a while.

The KBB is modest for the TT, many think that they are still a bit over priced

I have said this elsewhere, but I think it bears repeating - the Metzger cars are unfairly tarnished with the lowlier-models' IMS issues. It has been dragging the 996TT market down for quite a while, but the broader Porsche market seems to have leveled off or picked up (depending on the model) and I think that the downside on the regular 996s is nearly at an end. I think the IMS issue will continue to unfairly tarnish the Metzger cars longer, however, and hold prices unfairly down. The prices might be level or slightly rising for 996TTs, but I still think they are a WHALE of a Porsche bargain.

I have noticed that there seems to be a local shortage of sub-$10k Boxsters. There used to be quite a few of them every week. Now, all those cars seem to be hovering in the $11k region.

Shaun,
Just spoke to the guy selling this 996TT. The car has an 'interesting' history. A bunch of small little things had to be fixed - nothing substainal IMO (other then an oil pan leak that required a new gasket).

Its located in SLC. I may fly out in the next few weeks to check it out.

Anyone located in SLC?

Mike, just a word of caution, if a used car salesman has given you a laundry list of work needed already, it's probably the tip of the iceberg. I would recommend getting a PPI or PCA/Pelican inspection before wasting your time. If you can't find a Pelican, reach out to the local PCA region president. He may know somebody nearby, or may even know the car. When I was into BMWs I inspected an M3 for a MN BMWCCA member that contacted our local club.

Nah, he told me all the little things he did to the car. Sounds like he had stuff sorted out and the car is now on consignment. The owner bought a 2007 and is looking to recoup with the sale of this. The interiour is saddle brown which is interesting for a silver car...

Garage
Maybe it's just bad lighting but that interior looks like ass.

Agreed. Hopefully poor lighting. Rear seats look really dirty and fronts look like the skin of the biggest loser winner But its a turbo so who cares

I think it's lighting too. But the front seats are the supple leather option, that's why they are all wrinkly.

While I agree that the color combo is a bit off (who wears grey with brown?), there isn't gonna be a perfect car out there...or is there? Hmmmmmm....

If you're ok with it, that's all that matters. It's still better than the fugly tan that looks like piss yellow.

That interior color is probably Natural Brown. It's a bit butterscotchy in person. It works well with the silver IMO.

Saddle and silver are a sophisticated combination.

Uglier=less desirable=cheaper

(applies to cars, for women the far right part of the equation may not apply)

There's lots of guys in Phoenix. A dedicated post would probably uncover quite a few lookers.

I really like my black 996, but you really need to start shopping individual sellers Mike! Terrible pictures that hide everything, about one gallon of Armor All on the interior and engine, zero details in the description, missing battery cover.
