^^^Sid, get your butt in gear and snap up this car!

porsche4life 05-08-2014 11:54 AM

You going to loan me the money Jim? ;)

That is a helluva deal, but I was really wanting an older open top car, and I don't have the cash sitting here for a flip right now...

If I did though, my ass would be heading to tucson!

1999 Convertible
Came with...
Wind screen
Hard Top
Upgraded Stereo

Previous owner did...
Coolant reservoir & Cap
Front Wheel Bearing
Clutch & Pressure plate
RMS
LN-IMS
AOS

I did...
Starter
Radiator fan
Water Pump & T stat

I will have put around $11-1200 into it including the Carrera Sport Classics I plan to pick up tonight.

Very surprised how much I like this car! Thought it would be a great car but somewhat of a let down from the 87. I was wrong! Very different cars but this is a great DD and a fun mountain carver. Also surprised at how much cargo it holds. Have to put my golf clubs in the passenger seat but with two kids heavy into sports it gobbles up all their gear. And the AC actually works!!!
Might have to figure out a way to put my Kayak on top for my up north trout fishing trips ;)

Jeff 05-09-2014 08:42 AM

Forgot to add, it had 51,000 miles when I bought it in January.

450knotOffice 05-09-2014 10:35 AM

Take care of it, and it will be soldiering on in another 100,000 miles, like my 2000 996 has (159,000 miles, 122,000 of which have been with me).

Nice to hear 450.
Those are the wheels I'm picking up tonight. I assume you don't need to run spacers, correct? 8s & 10s off a 2002

BReif61 05-09-2014 05:16 PM

Jeff, you'll be fine bolting those wheels up. All 996s, both Mk1 and Mk2 had the same offset, save for the widebody cars, the Turbo and Carrera4S.

onewhippedpuppy 05-09-2014 06:19 PM

Spacers are nice though. If I remember correctly mine are 7 mm front and 15 mm rear, they make the offsets perfect.

Jeff 05-10-2014 08:02 AM

Thanks Guys.

onewhippedpuppy - you moving to Az?

onewhippedpuppy 05-10-2014 11:55 AM

Maybe. Good interview Friday, it all depends on the offer.

1990C4S 05-10-2014 04:04 PM

If it falls through my offer of $12k is still on the table.

But it has Porsche logo valve stems! It's local Sid, I say you go check it out. Who needs a 996TT or GT3 when you can get a CUSTOM 1999 C2?
