I would feel bad abusing that 997 the way I intend to abuse a 996.

Funny comment - I feel the same way.

Why? They still made a Brazillion of them. I'd have no problem driving that car like I stole it.

450knotOffice 05-25-2014 12:44 PM

No kidding. It's a 997. They're a dime a dozen. Drive 'em hard and never look back. That's the way Porsche has always intended.

Just like the older cars that used to have carbon buildup issues when grandma drove it, these cars are at their best when driven hard.

2001 Porsche 911 Cab 59k mi

I've been augmenting my desires, thinking instead of a coupe to go with a Cab for my 996TT...flame on ya brasstards!

maxnine11 05-26-2014 12:09 PM

I like a 996TT in Guards red.
I also like a 996 with a Boxster Red interior.
But i don't think the two should mix.
Cheap Red/Red Tip turbo:

porsche4life 05-26-2014 12:12 PM

maybe cheap for CA, but pretty standard price for the US,

and I love red, but I agree with you Red/Red shouldn't be done.

A930Rocket 05-26-2014 12:34 PM

I had a red/red '69 mustang fastback. Cool car but never again that color combination.

maxnine11 05-26-2014 02:21 PM

Converting kms to miles, and CDN$ to US$, i think it is a very decent price. If you can handle the color combination... or have a friend who is tiring of the black interior in his silver car and wants to trade,
$39,000 = $35,900 US
80,000 km = 50,000miles

M.D. Holloway 05-26-2014 04:12 PM

nope, gotta be midnight blue, saddle interior, tip, and maybe a cab - haven't ruled it out...

You're getting a tip, at that point you're already a lost cause.:p

Don't know anything about this car and no pics, but it is a $26k 996 Turbo and could be worth a look:

No pics and it's at a dealer? Something smells fishy...

Found it on their site. Looks very clean. Somebody needs to go take a gander at this car...

you could but as a mass produced model they are dumping in price about as fast as the 944 did, they are even cheap and common in my country.

biosurfer1 06-01-2014 08:37 AM

They also seem to get decent reviews online..at least as far as dealerships go. I bet it's simply the mileage. 130,000+miles scares off a lot of buyers.

The owner posted this for sale over at RL, and that thread quickly (and unsurprisingly) turned into a huge *****storm.
