Does not really sound like he is going to allow test drives. Have you talked with him yet? ( on the blue car )

Sort of. he said it's at a shop, so I said 'well if you're fixing it I guess the price will change'. He sais 'come and take it for $12k if you want it'. So either he is fed up, or he knows it's trashed, or it's not really at a shop.

He did volunteer to have the car ready to see on Saturday (i.e. he would bring it back from the shop).

He says it drives fine, just won't idle since he had it detailed.

Then it got hard to talk to him, a toddler was yelling into the phone and he seemed to think that was normal so our conversation ended before I could ask about driving it.

Sounds too shady for me to drive a long way. I would go an hour to see it, he's 4+ hours from me, and I'm not sure I want to deal with him.

I see no test drives as one of two things.
- Keeps tire kickers away, would actually allow them if a buyer was serious
- They absolutely mean it, becuase a buyer would immediately realize there were some major problems.

Too much $, but local. The color sure beats silver in my book! I like ragtops. Maybe I'll trade in my TDI for a 996.

For a 4 with a hardtop it doesnt seem that far off... theres a C2 with no hard top in blue with more miles for sale locally for less, but its not a red 4! If I was ready....

These cars seem to be really falling fast as fall approaches. I know people who paid more than these last few cars for their cobalt, or scion.
My trigger finger is getting real itchy

Cheapest cars are 1999 Tip Cabs, but they all seem to be in California....and I don't think I want a Tip or a Cab. Maybe a cab with a hardtop, like the green car. But they look 'awkward' to me.

Living in AZ I like the idea of a cab. Never had one before, figure the hard top would make it useable in the summer time. I like the odd green too. Timing just isn't right or I'd be bringing that beast home.

New record low?

Red interior aside, that's a lot of car for the money....

That 'guy' looking for an affordable TT Tip can his money where his mouth is now.

I actually like that red interior, a set of black floor mats would help offer some more contrast.

For some reason I think I'd like it better if the colors were reversed between inside and outside. Gimme one in manual though!
