Maybe some military operation 'accidently' shot it down. Major cover-up to buy time for an explanation. Like when the US effed up killing 290 in 1988. Lots of idiots on the trigger.

I'm not trying to be a smart aleck here. But I've worked it out. It is a case of a terrorist alien blonde girl who had one leg on one lever that did the altitude, and the other leg on another lever that was quite a distance away that did the left and right. And in her case it was a hard left back towards Maylasia. By the time the pilots had figured out they were just above sea level and that they had just enough fuel to land at the nearest port Mogadishu.

OK, then something else I don't understand, Amir: If these two young men were able to leave Iran with Iranian passports, why wouldn't they be able to continue their travels to their intended destinations without using stolen passports?

I know plenty or Iranians (Persians) who emigrated legally. I also have known others who came to America under work, study, or travel visas and then just never left. I understand that Iranians can't travel directly to at least the US because the two countries have no formal diplomatic relations, but there are roundabout legal ways to get just about anywhere in the world, no?

Why introduce the additianal risk of fake passports? These guys aren't going to be "legal" anywhere regardless of the passport they flash.

ZAMIRZ 03-12-2014 12:35 AM

^Here's my best guess as to what happened:

When you go to Imam Khomeini Airport to fly out to your international destination, there are only a few places you can go with an Iranian, and only an Iranian passport and no visa. Turkey, S.A. for pilgrimmage to mecca, UAE (if you're a guy, because of sex trafficing / buying Iranian virgins, it's much harder for women now), and I'm 99% sure you can go to Malaysia/KL as my great-uncle does quite a lot of business there and I don't think he's ever held anything but an Iranian passport. At the airport, when checking in/dropping your bags off, the person at the ticket-counter looks at the ticket and if your final destination is not an Iran-friendly, they ask for the passport you will enter the non-friendly with. They look it over pretty carefully, match it up to the Iranian to make sure the names are the same and in general are fairly thorough. HOWEVER, on the way to the gate you must go through passport control. If your Iranian passport checks out and there are no holds on it, they will simply let you through. I.e. there is no check/verification of the non-Iran-friendly passport other than what happens at the ticket counter.

My guess is, they traveled to KL on a final destination ticket where the stolen Austrian & Italian passports were furnished and tickets to their true final destination were purchased. Luckily for my family, we are blessed with the opportunity to come here and other places with opportunity legally. Sadly, for many young Iranians, especially the ones who come from the more rural parts of the country with lower income, this is not possible. It's just a matter of trying to get out and then figure out a way to make things work wherever you land.

Missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370: US Firm Lets Public Hunt for Clues with Satellite Images of 'Crash' Region

As the Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 remains untraceable even four days after it went missing, the US-based satellite imaging firm DigitalGlobe has crowdsourced search for the jet.

The Colorado satellite imaging company's initiative will allow the public to analyse high-resolution images to look for any sign of the missing plane, a move which may prove highly crucial in finding the passenger jet.

DigitalGlobe, which owns and operates five private satellites, will provide images taken from positions that are nearly 400 miles above earth. The pictures of the region will be available to users for free at the website Tomnod.

Malaysians are now backing off prior statements about military radar locating the plane off their west coast. Seems to raise the question I mentioned earlier - the reliability of that identification.

Air force chief Gen. Rodzali Daud said air defense radar showed an unidentified object at 2:15 a.m. about 200 miles northwest of Penang. "I am not saying it's flight MH370. We are still corroborating this. It was an unidentifiable plot," he said. Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 mystery deepens; officials don't know which way it was flying - CBS News

Here is a blog post listing the changes and contradictions in "official" information, which is contributing to the chasing-ones-own-tail circle of ever-weirder conspiracy theories. Contradictory statements from Malaysia over missing airliner perplex, infuriate

Baz 03-12-2014 06:45 AM

Like I said in an earlier post......the radar technology in that part of the world is sketchy and it should come as no surprise there is this confusion over where the plane was....and when.

My theory is the search is not taking place where it should be. I think the plane for whatever reason ended up way off course.....which explains why no one can find it.

^^Indeed^^

Garbage in, garbage out. The information coming out of the Malaysian government is so contradictory and sketchy that the image of a Keystone Kops investigation is beginning to form. The "official confirmation" of the change of course and continued flight has now been refuted--by the same officials that originally made it. More than frustrating.

We can only make decisions or judgements based on information we're given and when that information is constantly being altered, any decision is suspect and, in this case, much valuable time is wasted. It is still a Malaysian military operation. Malaysia could declare it a civilian disaster and turn the investigation over to international experts, but have not done so.

If there is any good to come from this whole situation, it's that the world is now aware of the complete lack of passport security in most areas outside the U.S. and European Union. Oh yeah, and if you're a pretty blonde, you get to ride in the cockpit of a commercial airliner.

MH370 - what happened

Based on the supplied information, it appears quite plausible, IMO. It would also account for not being able to find wreckage in the area around the last radar contact, yet account for the programmed right turn to 40 degrees that is part of the computer flight plan. This is something the international investigating team would be aware of and if the search was in their control, it may have been applied sooner or, it has already been considered and we don't know because all communication is through the Malaysian government.

As an aside, the report of the plane flying to the west, which is now being disputed, also includes the fact that the Malaysian military radar, which supposedly tracked the plane, didn't pick up the object (plane?) until 2:15am and tracked it until 2:41 am. It's not like they tracked it from the missing point until it was lost.

Head416 03-12-2014 08:19 AM

I see several questionable statements on that site, more conjecture no different than here. I find it funny that he states as fact that all the passengers would be unconscious before the cabin pressure was equivalent to 13,500ft. People hike above that altitude all the time. He also disregards the pressure alarms in the cockpit that we talked about a few pages ago.
It seems doubtful that the plane could have continued on autopilot towards Bejing without being picked up on radar and probably receiving a fighter escort.

gordner 03-12-2014 08:25 AM

That is a highly unlikely scenario and a loss of the Satcom would not disable the transponder regardless. There are discrete antennae for each system of that aircraft, there are probably more than a dozen antennae all together. Also the cabin altitude alerter should have still functioned.
It does not seem there is an easy answer for this event, not until they find the aircraft at least.

Maybe they sell that bag at the airport?

Sunroof 03-12-2014 08:28 AM

If this scenario were true it would end up as if looking for Amelia Earharts plane!!!!! They would never find it. The clock is ticking on the battery power to keep the locator "ping" going.

Their legs and feet are exactly the same.

flipper35 03-12-2014 08:39 AM

Wouldn't the FMS have put it in a holding pattern near the destination if the pilots didn't intervene?

In regard to the transponder, wouldn't the ID be changed if something nefarious was going on?

Head, I am not sure it would matter if the passengers were conscious or not if they were over water with no cell connection. I doubt any would realize there was a problem.

Losing the comms array does make some sense but as stated, it doesn't affect VHF comms and I think the pilots would have reported the loss of the other systems right away.

Then again I think of the Air France flight and how inept they became once they entered a situation outside of the norm. I do have to give credit to the captain for recognizing the situation quickly after entering the cockpit.

Malaysia Airline MH370: The Ringing Questions are Still Unanswered … and Fishy

Very early this morning (our time) Malaysian authorities released these photos of the alleged men who used the 2 stolen passports to board Malaysia Airline MH370.......................

One possible answer might be the AFP or the Malaysian authorities were trying to crop-off someone unrelated in the first photo and didn’t want the size difference between the two photos upon release to the press, so, stupidly just used the second photo’s bottom half for fill-in. Still, it wasn’t accidental. A fair amount of ‘care’ was used in cropping the two photos together for a quick glance acceptance as a true image … except for that pesky white dividing line.
They didn't even use Photoshop, it was good old "cut & paste".

The discovery had led to allegations that the images were manipulated using photo editing suite Photoshop, but closer inspection suggests the superimposition was physical.

It is unclear why authorities opted to combine parts of Pouria’s image with Delavar’s that were captured when both were passing through a security checkpoint at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport on their way to board the still-missing MH370 flight.
