Funny how you hear all this complaining about reclining seats and shrinking space but I've yet to hear one complaint about the shrinking costs of flying.....

Got news for you whiners...you got what you paid for. There's a reason Ryanair makes money....

Third Flight diverted over reclining seat.

More fun in the friendly skies...

shrinking costs to air travel? I assume you are making a funny. as a business traveler...I get crushed when I fly commercial aviation.

how under any economic model do you show for cheaper flights if you include but not be limited to the following: 1) Jet A indexed to petroleum, 2) super mergers and 3) displacement of old fleet w/ new orders?

you can add additional fees as well...prices seem quite high to me!!!

Flying now is cheaper than ever. Easy to look that one up.

Exactly. And planes that have no recline option - the seats are pushed closer together. IOW, the recline-phobic need to be careful about their demands.

All this talk about being an asshat if reclined. Tell me more about asshat rules. What if reclined only 2 inches?

what if the asshat in front of me reclines (gasp)

What if my side neighbor wants to put up the arm between us and I want it down? --Oh, I am SO unreasonable.

That is a recent thing. On a multi decade basis, airfares have gone down a lot.

Not on the flights I'm on!
I hate airlines.
I pay extra for "premium coach" which gives me back the leg room they took away when the crammed in more seats. On the way back from Paris last year my "premium coach" seat was the one next to the main cabin door - a seat that always has lots of leg room (after the door closes and unless an attendant or another passenger is wandering around there).
My companion had a checked bag that weighed 51.5 pounds and Delta wanted to charge her an extra $100 for the 1.5 pounds. It's stupid. They've got the scales, they could easily charge extra by the pound. She is a Beotch when she wants to be and she stood there at the head of the line taking things out one at a time until she got the weight to 50 lbs. and we stuffed the extra 1.5 lbs in our carry-ons somehow. Airlines make more trouble for themselves with stupid policies.

I'd lock up the mofo in front of me, and recline my seat as far back as that ***** would go, for the win.

You want to compare prices to those in the late sixties early fifties when we had all that legroom? Have at it. I think you'll be shocked to find out how much cheaper it is. We can quickly and cheaply go to places our parents never dreamed of at prices they couldn't imagine. I'm not saying business class is cheap- it never has been. But coach can be dirt cheap. And that's what they're going to treat you like. Sad fact of life but people need to get over it and quit blaming the person in front of them.

Besides if you don't want a reclining seat Spirit and Allegient are just waiting for you.
