Actually thought Pete out coached Bill during the game, I didn't care for either team so take that for what it's worth. Don't know why you wouldn't run a guy who is almost guaranteed 3plus yards. Was it an audible? Felt bad for Russell, lots better dude than Brady

hahaha- BTW: Did you see that NBC / NASCAR promo starring Nick Offerman? Incredible that NBC promotes the NASCAR product as a comedy.... BUT WHICH OF COURSE IT IS! What a clown product NASCAR is making $$$$$

From now on, I'm skipping entire seasons of the NFL, but just wake me up for the 4th qtr. in the Super Blow! This is getting exciting like when pro cycling was during the EPO doping era. Those boyz making for some good entertainment-

Belichick gets a lot of credit for not taking the timeout on the final play to preserve clock and set up Brady for a down-the-field march. He had such total confidence in his defense and the message being sent to them was clearly "we don't need to worry about that - just stop them and get it done". And they did. Brilliant, brilliant, BRILLIANT bit of coaching IMHO. The vote of confidence like that from your coach makes all the difference sometimes - like this time.
Big props to Bill B. and the rest. I feel for Pete C. - he's going to be second-guessing himself for months. Gotta' be awful to live with that guilt and carry it around. I've always kinda' liked him (just not as much as Bill B.).

Terrible decision by the Seahawks to try to pass it in. That was not the play to call, given the risk:benefit ratio.
And a very sly play for the Pats to call at the end, to go for the hard count and bait the Seahawks into jumping offsides to seal the win. Last edited by Noah930; 02-01-2015 at 09:51 PM.. |

There were some good commercials, but I thought they lacked any really great ones. The game, however was one of the better games i've seen, with plot twists and catches on thier backs, and stupid calls. it's just entertainment........now onto NASCAR.

Second worst play call in Super Bowl history in my book and interestingly they both involved not handing the ball to a great running back.
I told my son when they were inside the 5 yard line that 3 runs and Lynch wins the super bowl for Seattle. Seriously, not even a play action fake "leap" by Lynch to setup the pass? Boneheaded play call by the Seahawks. |

So is Tom Brady inside your top 5 following this game and the game winning drive?

About that play...another perspective.....
If you run the ball on 2nd down and DO NOT GET IT, you must use the last timeout. In this scenario, you cannot risk running the ball on 3rd down because, if you don't get it, you won't see 4th down The alternate scenario Carroll chose has a much higher expected value. In this scenario, you throw into the end zone on 2nd. Result should be touchdown or incompletion. If an incompletion....you can still run on 3rd. Call timeout, and run again on 4th. Scenario 2 guarantees threes cracks at the end zone (2 of which are running plays) given you don't turn the ball over. Scenario 1 runs the risk of only getting two plays off AND the defense can surmise the 3rd down play is definitely a pass. Obviously you can argue a run play secures the ball better and/or having Lynch improves the odds of getting in but there are other ways of looking at it.

I also think this could have been pure Karma with the ML media whitewash thing.
Whether or not you agree with his antics.

I didn't have a dog in the fight so I was really enjoying a good game. But I know this, if the Seahawks run the ball like they should have in that position, you're not nearly as happy today. |

At a minimum you play action fake to Lynch with Lynch faking the dive and then try the pass. Terrible, terrible call. |
