Rewind it 1 play and that bobble lucky grab after the defender broke the play up would have changed the entire situation.

Either way - cue the duck boats.

Oh no doubt without that lucky catch we're not talking about running Lynch but you have to admit, you thought it was over with a back like Lynch at that field position. Be honest.
Either way it's probably the most I enjoyed a Super Bowl that didn't involve the Steelers in quite a while.

Something funny to me is that the importance of that off sides call at the end didn't strike me until I read something about it here this morning. I didn't realize if Brady took a knee it was a safety. Wow! terrible time for an off sides penalty.

I was watching with by brother who was "all is lost" animating. My words to him before the interception play were "well they still have to punch it in"... Lesson learned - fight until you don't have any fight left. Don't give up. Can't be any more impressed with Bill B. and his composure at the end. I admit I was calling for letting them in after that long completion so Brady would at least have a chance to drive them to field goal range in 30 seconds. This is exactly why (among other reasons) that I'm not the coach.

Great game to watch other than all the gesticulating/antics after virtually every play especially the Seattle side. I wish the camera wouldn't feed those dorks.

I was merely pointing out another perspective on why they threw it instead of running it.

Even with Lynch, NE has a pretty stout goal line defense so there's no guarantee he would have gotten in.

NE does have a good goal line D but in 4 down territory with less than 2 yds to go, you test them and then test them again. I don't believe for a second they keep Lynch out of the end zone. It's just asking too much of a D to stop that guy when he can taste the goal line from there.

From Pete Carroll
""I told those guys, 'That's my fault, totally,' " Carroll said on NBC's postgame show. "But we had plenty of time to win the game ... we were playing for third and fourth down, give them no time left ... but didn't work out that way."

Umm... then why did you pass the ball???

Credit and respect to Pete Carroll for his handling of the interviews after the game. It must have been heart breaking but he answered professionally and laid his heard out there. He did what they tell you a great leader should do - share the praise when you win and accept responsibility wholly when you don't. He made a great example of what a sportsman/leader should do.

On the other hand, his OC (Bevell) is taking credit for making the play call and has passed blame to the receiver on the field for not trying harder to stay on the route or break the play up. I expect that OC will possibly be looking for a new job after not keeping his mouth shut.

I hear you and agree.

But they would have had to use their only timeout had Lynch not made it in on 2nd down.

Then they wouldn't have enough time to run another run play and fail.

They chose to run the pass play first....and then have TWO more plays to run it in if needed.

Like I said - they were thinking overall strategy.

I also believe if Wilson had done his job better.....they would have won the game.

About the halftime show - I've seen a lot worse than that and at least it was kid friendly. I thought Perry did a great job performance-wise although that's not my taste in music at all.

Was glad Lenny showed up but didn't care for the rapper lady at all.

I am not usually a football fan but this game was tremendous. The whole nine yards including the half time entertainment. Well done!

If I were the Pats I would have been a bit grumpy about all the blue surrounding the field.

That first Brady pick, Lynch seemed to come out of no where.

I don't think Brady ever saw him, he just seemed to blend into the back drop.

The pass call doesn't bothering me so much. The Pats had stopped Lynch on a 3rd and short earlier in the quarter. At least I think it was Lynch. The Lynch run would be the most predictable play there so why not pass? It wasn't a good pass though. You don't lead the receiver so much and throw the ball high when the DB is right there. Staring at you. He could have thrown it away, over everyone's head seeing the play wasn't open. But those slants are thrown in the end zone all the time and usually effective.

It was 2nd and less than a yard, Lynch had just picked up about 3 or 4 on first down, 1 timeout remaining, You pound Lynch up the middle twice from less than a yard and 9 times out of ten I think he gets in. I could be wrong but he's a power back built for that type of run. I'd have ran him twice. But hey! I'm not an NFL OC and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night so I do have those two things going against me.

No mo' TNA shows. Who is Missy? Whoever she is, with that wardrobe, you'd think it was snowing in Phoenix.

What was the play just before the first half ended to score a TD?

Wilson threw a pass to Chris Matthews.

Maybe that interception by Butler was a great play by NE - rather than a bad play by Seattle.

Most between 20-40 probably know her. I'm a metal/hard rock guy, but I knew who it was as soon as the song started, before I saw her.

True. Here the play works and it's heralded as "a gutsy call." No second guessing it in that situation...

That was a really good play call. Wilson threw the ball high where only his very tall WR could go up and get the ball. If he overthrows him it sails out of the end zone, no harm no foul. But to throw toward the middle in heavy traffic just doesn't seem to me to be a good call or a good decision. If anything have him run a fade route or throw it high again and give his receiver a chance to make a play on the ball.

Also, I'm not trying to take anything away from Butler. He made a hell of a play on a ball coming in hot. He saw it coming and jumped the play. GREAT play on his part.
