I've always dreamed vividly. Good or bad (more good) and they're often directly related to what's going on in my life.
Occasionally I'll have an obscure one that doesn't make any sense until some time later. Then it just all falls into place making complete sense. I think dreaming is a bit like self psychology. I really don't know how criminals can live with their memories and therefore bad dreams.

My dreams are so-so, but the gf has some vivid ones. One time she woke up and called me a lying, cheating bastard. I was in a panic until she told me it was a dream. lol

I had a nightmare for years that always rattled me. I mentioned it one time here, and it was suggested I get professional help... I haven't had it in years thankfully, and I hope to never have dreams like that again.
Christina Hendricks on the other hand... I'll take those as long as I have a pulse! Va va va voom!

I had one like that. I was stuck in an Army camp and the toilets and bathrooms were filthy and there was no way out. (every surface was covered in mufti-shades of poo) So I walked around and around looking for the cleanest toilet and bathroom so I could have a shower but non of them were anywhere near acceptable. There were row upon row of them... Thousands of dirty toilets and bathrooms and you couldn't use any of them! I felt completely trapped with no way out.

Occasionally I'll dream like that, it can be a gift and curse. Also, sometimes the line between reality and fiction (your dreams) can be very blurred.
If you have trouble remembering your dreams, jotting down your dreams as soon as you wake up will help. |

On several occasions in the morning as we are getting dressed my wife will inform me that I am in trouble. She will tell me about some dream she had where I did something in a dream that made her mad and she is still mad at me.

An old Chinese man asked me to carry him home because he was too weak to walk. So I carried him home, when I got him home I asked, "How old are you?" His reply was, "That he was 25,000 years old." I looked down and said, "I don't think that I will ever get to be that old." To that he said, "Yes you will."
If you understand Jungian theory, you will know that that was meeting an ARCHETYPE. In other words I accessed something in myself which is very old and primal in mans collective memory.

I find dreams to be fascinating and have done some research on them. I do dream many vivid dreams, and have had a couple of lucid dreams - where you know you are dreaming, and you start to manipulate / control the outcome of the dream.
Dreams are often your mind's way of processing stuff that remains unresolved. Sometimes dreams make sense, but often they are just a jumble of memories strung together in your mind's attempt to make sense of things, with some randomness thrown in. Keeping a pad and pen by your bedside, and recording your dream as soon as you wake from that dream is the best way to remember the events of your dream -- otherwise, in most cases, your dream can vanish from your memory. Some people dream in vivid colors, while others dream in black and white, or very muted colors. See if you can recall colors in your dream. If so, I believe that indicates that you have more of a creative side... Quote:

The most disturbing dream that I have had was that I was killed in a car accident. I was dead, and with God, and could see my wife through a window. All I desired to do was to let her know that I am ok - and in heaven. This was a very, very powerful dream for me. When I was a child, I had one of those monkey dolls with cymbals that (was on Close Encounters movie). In the stop-action Christmas special "The Little Drummer Boy," there was a scene where the man draws a smiley face on the little drummer boy so he could perform. Well, in a dream when I was a child, I was at my sister's Godparents home in Connecticut. We were up in their bedroom, and I'm sitting on the bed with a blue sheet onit. I have this Drummer Boy doll that works just like the Cymbal clapping monkey. He has the smile painted on his face. So I'm holding this doll, and all of a sudden, his eyebrows turn angry, and his fake smile disappears. He grabs me, and starts rolling me over on the bed. Woke me up in a cold sweat. I remember that dream like it was this morning - but that dream was some 40 years ago! Soon after 9-11, I dreamt that I was in the second building that got hit and saw the first plane hit the other building. In my dream, I was in a conference room at the same height as where the first plane hit the other building. I saw the nose of the plane impact the building, and the debris fly all over as the explosion engulfed the building. I felt the building I was in shaking from the impact. That terrorist attack shook me to my foundations - I never thought such an attack would ever occur so close to me -- my sense of safety was pulled out from under me. -Z

I've been diabetic for many years. Along the way I once mentioned to a specialist about my sometimes many & vivid dreams. He replied that was due to high blood sugar at bedtime.
Maybe you should check your levels checked for a prediabetic condition. |

Clickety, clickety clack....
Your subconscious mind is always calculating and resolving problems. When you go REM, your down in the subconscious mind. Remember that one said your subconscious mind does not speak English but in symbolic imagery. Those dream images or sequence is the language of the subconscious. Since a broad variety of people have the same dream sequence this would indicate a collective memory is at work which makes for a commonality or universality of all men no matter colour, creed or ethnicity. Our collective memories have been built over many millennia of experiences which have slowly changed brain configuration. So one might say that mans' collective memory is built into our DNA. That might be called evolution, as the dolts who didn't get it when the hair stood up the back of their necks got eaten as didn't realize they were in the proximity of a hungry Saber Tooth Tiger. Lunch anyone?
