Some of these large grass patches youze are mowing sound like a cigar would be a better alternative to a beer...lasts longer, not nearly as dangerous.

Takes about 30 seconds to write the check that pays for our month of mowing and maintenance of all the other greenery at our place.

Naw. That's 7 gallons of gas and 20 oz of IPA goodness. JD never buys.

Got me a manual mower, the reel style. Pretty quiet, no gas to keep on hand and it doesn't seem like too much work for a smallish city lot.

I do a modified Zamboni version because the wheels tend to push the grass down and without the suction that a standard mower produces, you don't want to go right back over the wheel track- give it a chance to spring back.

Really, really getting tempted to pay someone, but can't get over the lazy feeling!

My lawn here in SoCal is about 950 sq ft. Our lawn service takes about 10 minutes to cut & edge it. Writing them a check every month is hard work.

With spring being so late this year, I have not even got the mower deck off the wall of the barn yet. Just ordered a set of new blades for the 6' deck off of ebay. Will be cutting 5 acres of lawn soon enough. Two years ago I was cutting grass in March. This year I will not cut grass until May.

Today I used the nascar technique, I only turned left, I had to stop and get gas every time I found a stick, I traded paint with the Azealia several times until I had room to go by them. All in all it took much too long for such a simple thing.

I told this story here before but I can't find the thread to refer too.
When he was 15 my son decided he would make his fortune mowing lawns. He bought an old Toro 21" self propelled mower and used it for a while, then I noticed a second one in the garage. One Saturday I watched him tie them together with rope and drag them out to the street. He rode his bike down the street to get up some speed and returned, grabbing the lead mower as he went by. I was perplexed and intrigued, so I followed him. He drug both mowers to this business a few blocks away that had a huge lawn. I sat and watched as he dragged a thing that looked like a wooden wire spool out from behind the shrubs. He put it smack in the middle of the lawn and pushed one of the mower up to it. He hooked the cable that was wrapped around the spool to one of the mowers and fired it up and let it go. It went around and around the spool, mowing the grass and unwrapping itself by 20" per revolution, while he used the other mower to do the trimming. It was genius! I was so proud of him. Still am. He teaches and does research at Boston University Hospital now.

I use a different pattern every time I cut it. I get on the tractor and wherever it goes, it goes.

We have horses in the pasture.

The owner (not us) picks up the poo.

There used to be a guy around here who rented sheep to graze his front lawn. It was probably 5 acres.
