Maybe the lawyers here can help me with a similar incident that I was involved in?

MY SITUATION
I was stand in the supermarket near the checkout counters, waiting for my wife to return.

Rather than stand in the flow of shopping shopping cart traffic, I picked a spot in front of a row of shelving, directly in front of a 3 foot tall, 8 inch thick steel pole that was presumably positioned to protect the end of the display case.

THE INCIDENT
A maniacal woman spotted a new checkout counter opening at the other end of the store. She also spotted the patch of clear airspace directly behind me and came charging my way, screaming verbal insults at me to get out of her way.

I complied, just in time to avoid being run over as she slammed into the 3 foot post behind me that I was guarding. She ended up head first into her shopping cart, causing it to upend, and taking out the stand of canned goods.

She could have been killed! What was I thinking!!!

Happy 4th of July everyone

I wonder if she learned anything from that incident? It reminds me of when I am in a hurry driving I am being less cautious. I have definitely taken more time in the last few years to slow things down to make it safer. Stay safe out there!
