Seems to me that starting from the back of the grid isn't totally the end of the world, especially for Rossi. Just a question of if he loses too much time to catch the Hondas.

True. It's not over yet.
But, the problem is going to be that Marc will definitely favor Jorge at the last race. Yeah, he'd love to win his home GP but there's no way he's not going to get into a battle between Lorenzo and Rossi. If Rossi comes charging through the field, I'd be real surprised if Jorge wasn't ahead of Marc. And, you can bet that Marc will be a rolling chicane. You should watch the pit boards at the next race. I also noticed that after Marc's "mistake", which let Jorge by for second, he seemed less interested in going after him, yet once Rossi caught up to Marc for the 3rd place battle, you'd have thought Rossi just knocked down a wasp nest and stepped on it with bare feet!!! Marc was relentless!

Actually there is a bit of kit on the handlebar to help prevent whacking the brake lever. I don't know if it is perfect but it seems unlikely that the lever can get whacked that easily. But I am guessing.

There is, you can see it in the photo below. Rossi said Marc's arm touched his leg, before the "kick," so it's anybody's guess what actually happened. The data would show if he locked the front brake from too much pressure and the overhead video would help a lot, especially the Hi Res version of it.

My wife, who watches these races with me and knows all the players, thought MMs riding was alittle suspect at PI. This race sealed the deal
I watched the replay several times in slomo, From the rear angle, to me it looks like MM hit VRs leg. you can see Rossis leg is still moving up from the hit as MM is essentially crashing.. Regardless MM is a bitter little *****. I run a brake guard on my track bike. I had a front brake lever broken off during contact during a race at willow springs, didn't realize it till I go to back for the next turn.....not fun

I think that, in the coming days, opinions on the incident may change.

FINALLY! I get to watch all these fantastic races. I had to buy the Sports Package from my cable carrier, but now I get all the races live on FS1. Set the series recording Friday when it kicked in and WALLA!...Today I have the Malaysia GP recorded. Can't wait to watch it.
I don't know what I'm going to do with 20 other obscure sports channels playing 24 hour soccer, but its worth it to get the Moto GP.

I intend to go back and pay closer attention to Marc's behavior in the other races

It is safe to say that Rossi has been around the block and then some. He knows the tactics. And obviously being directly involved in the on-track mix, could easily spot a pattern from Marc.

And what about Lorenzo walking away from the podium as a snub to Rossi...what a smug prick he is.

I'm on the fence about attending the last race. I can probably dig up a ticket for 2-3x face value and go... might be the race of the century

It also seemed that there was no love for Lorenzo from the Sepang crowd when he first took the podium; not quite booing, but not a lot of enthusiasm either. Seemed like "meh, whatever" from the crowd. I wondered if that's why he didn't stick around.
