A drone in my backyard would probably yield footage of all my illegal activities like peeing in public, and unlawful burning, maybe even catch the horses humping each other !

So I guess maybe this is a bad time to ask if you want to buy any video of you peeing off your back porch?

There you go. Monetize that footage on Youtube, it goes viral, and you become rich. I mean, who wouldn't want to watch a drunk guy peeing on an out-of-control brush fire while horses hump in the background?

I think they tracked him using the GPS on that thing and now he has "disappeared"

I think if I ever find one of those things I'm going to let the horse pee on it while I go inside and hump my wife by the fire...

Turns out its a crappy quad copter with horrible video.
Looks like it may have belonged to a ~10 yo girl who lost it in the wind last Xmas!!
Probably stuck in trees until the fall fun began.
Last video was corrupt so it probably was damaged when it saw me nekkid.
Have IT trying to clear up the dark grainy video so I can return to sender.
So no conspiracy, but it could have been.
Tinfoil hat still on!!

See if you can locate the girl and give her an early X-mas present of a used Quad-copter.

Well, I for one, as a guy who likes to piss off my front porch and scratch my sac with no regrets, am happy that this wasn't a case of espionage.

This does bring up a general drone question though. Earlier this year at the beach, I saw a drone for the first time. It hovered above the beach, went straight up, then moved straight out over water- WAAAAAAYYYYY out. , to the point I could barely see it, hovered there for quite some time, then moved straight back in, hovered there over the beach for minutes, and then moved inland beyond sight.

I was amazed- for there was a 15-20 mph wind/breeze moving DOWN the beach, which means the drone was compensating for it somehow, however, it appeared to be flying on coordinates, not making random adjustments for the wind.

How did it do this? Do drones have GPS coordinates to "pin" or "snap" it on pure perpendicular planes of flight? I have no earthly idea how it flew so accurately. how'd they do that?

Yes. Accurate GPS and they can fly a preset pattern.

We use drones in the oil patch sometimes. I asked our field guys to get me an accurate napkin sketch of how we had our frac pumps rigged in. Instead, they got me a 15 minute drone video that cost $200. The drone was about 200' up and you could really see the lodgepole pine trees swaying below yet the video was rock solid. The depth of field seemed to be 6" to infinity. Amazing video, very useful, and cost effective.

I wish I could share the video with you guys - you would be gob smacked.
